Hey Gary,
I have that one as well. I loved that secret pocket he put the cent in. I really never figured out why he took the cent back with him knowing it would pull him back into the future.

I'm having a tuff time deciding where I want to go. Since I am of spanish decent, I keep getting pulled back to the days when Spain ruled the world and they had/made all those gold coins, and was a rich country--Perhaps around Columbus's time---After they conquered the West Indies, South America and Mexico--  . As for what coin I would take back? I have no idea since America did not exist yet--  PS: Have and love those time machine movies and shows--Time Travel? I'm thar--  Edited by CiScO

There was a movie called Time after Time with William Devane--(very under rated actor, IMO) who goes back in time to stop a scientist from the future who went back in time to the wild west to be gunslinger. And he took a .357 with him. Really good movie. Isn't there a theory that says you can change the past but once you do you branch off into new past, present and future "time-line." So that when you do go back to the present it's the new present and your going to live with what mess you started by changing stuff? This has already been done. I know War Admiral won that match race with Seabiscuit.  |

CiScO, Please..! I don't wanna go back to 1954! I was there and things are much nicer here in many ways. Especially since we didn't have television where I lived yet and the schools was still telling us to "Duck and Cover." catman |

This has already been done. I know War Admiral won that match race with Seabiscuit.
Would be kinda tough finding .357 Mag ammo in the old West. Hope he was a good shot (one shot, one kill). (To the other gun nuts out there, yes, he could have used the old .38 calibre cartridge of the 1870s or, even reloaded his empty .357 brass with primers and black powder, but this would have really fouled his weapon.) In sci-fi, every time one changes the past, a new time-line is created. This happened far too frequently for my realistic blood in Star Trek: Voyager where it seemed if the ship ran into a conundrum or quandary, the writers would plug in a time travel solution. Similarly, in Quantum Leap which, while it didn't necessarily involve time travel, had as its premise parallel worlds/universes which are essentially different time lines. The problem becomes personal when someone jumps into a different time line or parallel universe bringing with him/her his/her own existence. It then becomes a paradox. Fred |

Fred I don't recall that they went into the details about his ammo. But his idea was that a .357 would out distance what other gun fighters had. So he just draw on them when they were too far away to shoot at him. What happened was William Devane bought a sealed box at an auction that had a an old photo of the scientist after he just whacked someone. Devane couldn't understand why a gun fighter from the old west had a .357. He figured at first he'd been ripped but he was a history professor and wrote a paper about how he though this guy was a time traveler. And then the people of future had Davane's paper and paid him visit so he could help them catch the rogue scientist. It's pretty involved but it's a really good movie. Devane is a first class actor and yet he never seems to get much reconition.

Now you got me curious. I haven't seen the movie, but since a central part of the plot centers around the .357, it intrigues me. I'll watch for it in the Walmart bins. Davane often plays bad guys, e.g. [i]Marathon Man[/], so he isn't necessarily a hero type and doesn't attract the attention a Tom Cruise type might. However, his portrayal of JFK was credible. Fred |

Biy you must hate me. The Timestalkers sound real good. I checked with Netflex and they didn't have it. I checked with the IMDB and discovered it was made for T.V. in 1987 and was never put on DVD. I found a couple of used VHS for sale at $65.00 each. Looks like I won't get to see it for a while. It was almost like trying to find "Child of Glass"
