Oh goodness. What a fantastic coin made right in the epicenter of a tragic natural disaster! I wonder where it was sitting when it happened.

That is a good question, SSK. I have wondered the same thing.
To me, each coin is a "window" into human history.

That's a very special coin. I have a friend whose putting together a MM Double Eagle set by Type. He'd love that coin. So do I !!

That's a tough set. I'd love a MM set of $20 Liberty type 3's but that dang 1879-O stands in the way. I have P, D, S and CC in type 3. My O mint is a type 1...1852-O. Hopefully he finds a nice 1879-O to complete it.  Thx for the complement :)
