Going for something unique to draw in buyers, I suppose.

There's a local coin dealer at the shows in town that draws straight black-red-black lines on all the 2x2s holding Nazi Germany coins he sells.

I saw this 1913 type 1 Buffalo today. The drawing has information about the coin.

I love it when people think outside the box. Being conventional is too often encouraged just for the convenience of others. Three cheers for the Rebel mind.

It is difficult to read their description but it had more information about the coin than most auctions I have seen

I noticed that the same seller also has a couple of his own paintings up for sale at $2000 apiece, which means you're getting a real bargain when you buy one of his mini 2x2 canvas creations.

Even before opening the link I knew exactly who you meant.

I saw one of his that had flying saucers on the holder.

It does beat up old worn holders with rusty staples and "chicken scratching" for handwriting.

Wow. Pretty creative. But it does take away from the beauty of the coin.

Yes a little bit distracting but kudos for separating the coins from the pack. I wish I had that much free time on my hands that I could draw on 2 x 2's. Never gonna happen!
