Quote: Has the look of one of Bank of Montreal or Yorkshire Trust sets. @Pacificoin can you tell us more about those? I'm not familiar with them ... Thank you! Best Regards, George

Any coin with a color range toning like this one is unstable. They should be protected in an airtight capsule.

George those are Canadian banking institutions that made up sets of coins in the Centennial year to give out to new and special customers. The high content of sulphur in the packaging resulted in spectacular colours similar to the RCM issued 1971 through 1973 cased silver dollar coins. Hope this helps Jack

Hope this helps Jack Oh yes that is very helpful, I wondered why I had not seen an example with this kind of toning nearly as often as the 1971-73 silver dollars. Once in a while you seen a nicely toned MS 1967 quarter [I am still looking to replace one I should have kept], but seems like the halves and dollars with neat toning are tough in high grade. Thanks Jack! Thanks and hi to Jacob! Best Regards,

How do you get a picture of both sides of the coin at once when it is in the holder? Is it photographed when graded but before being encapsulated and the pics shown on a neutral background?

It's a service of PCGS called TrueView but take a photo, save it, flip the coin, take a photo, save it, combine the two, the technology exists. Best Regards, George

It was an honest mistake on the part of the gentleman I bought it from, I saw it myself yesterday on the bay and sent him a reminder to take it down and he did so, it's all good and it has a nice place in my collection. If/when I decide to sell it will appear on my website. Best Regards, George
