Regarding the baby feet coins, I was looking at CA last night, they are asking $85 for 2015 and are sold out. When did they get so popular. This one flew under the radar. I never looked twice at this coin, as I don't know anyone with newborns. Is this becoming a new fad. I wonder how many different ways they can do the feet. Its nice to see it raise in value, especially as a gift. These are by no way low mintage either. Its nice to start a newborn off with a piece of silver. The mint hit it out of the park with this one, simple and elegant.

Do not chase them (Born in...) coins, just cause previous appreciated. If you want, get the 2016 for issue, and keep to give as gift to the friends newborn or just wait and see, how it will be priced after couple of years.

I don't intend collecting the baby feet series, these are just things I have noticed. I can still appreciate the coin and notice a trend in it.
Its interesting the lack of discussion on the release, even if people aren't buying anything. There used to be plenty of discussion on designs in the past. The $20 dino coin looks weird, something strange about the hind foot, they don't match. Same with only 1 foreleg, where is the other. More thought could have gone into the design. What are some thoughts on this and other coins, even if you aren't buying.

The Geometry In Art series, provides very unusual view on the Canada's iconic animals presented with the minimalist design in their natural habitat.
I think, better to pick up them (despite the 7500 mintage), rather than repeated "traditional" animals..
But, not for the issue price. Let's wait for the couple of years, they will be CAD 50-60

I got lucky in 2009 when my only niece was born.....my mom picked up a few of the 2009 birth sets with the colonized teddy bear quarter that year....I got 2 sets in my house.

to the CCF, bmelQuote: I love the Geometry in Art series, the Loon is gorgeous. I couldn't wait, I bought the subscription for this year. What can I say? I'm a noob! Enjoy the series... The Polar Bear with the cub, imo looks amazing (in the pictures). I like the animal themes, and actually planned to stop with them (no necessary to have multiplicity of them), but this is another look on familiar creatures. Reminds me the Australian Opal series....but this one more impressive. Definitively, waiting with impatience that they will drop 50%-60% in value to get the set.

Quote: but CA has already boosted the price on their web-site from list $189.95 to $209.95. exactly wanted to post the same. People like the innovations (not so often we have painted GITD coin), so: CC&C - out of stock CA - sell for CAD 209 limit 1 per customer The Coin Shoppe - still in stock. Please buy ASAP - not sure about the coin, but seems to be a good "flip", or basically it could be "Dyno-II", when the people ran to buy the coin for re-sell : http://www.thecoinshoppe.ca/norther...e-dark-coin/Going for NASCAR Medallion #2 - Daytona 500..... Yes, this is just the silver round manufactured by RCM, but I like the theme, design and the price.

And don't forget to go through a cash back site for Canada Post. The site I use most often is giving 2.5% ($4.75 back on this one coin).

Good thing I ordered my 2 ox wolf coin this morning. My rep told me this coin was commissioned by Bromberg, for the shopping channel. So they had limited stock, and limited viewing of the coin. Rep never got to see the glow function. There will be one nore coming out. No wonder Bromberg has the first one for $289.

It appears to be sold out everywhere now.
I was still 50/50 this morning, but caved in and bought one at CA at the higher price just before they sold out. Can't resist those beautiful wolves!
I doubt that these will drop below issue, but then anything can happen...as we all know.

Quote: My rep told me this coin was commissioned by Bromberg, for the shopping channel. This is, imo of cause, the turn-off #2. The number one is low execution effort, minting 2oz round and painting the picture on it. "Autumn Bliss" and all the "Rapid Rivers" Colorized 1oz "Iconic Animals" RCM by itself is "not creative enough" in order to paint all the surface of the coin.

I cannot wait to see in hand. It has a fifty fifty chance of being a nice coin. I can always return it. It all depends on how the color is done. If its pixilated I am out. Bromberg has had a couple hits on secondary market. Maybe these types of coins appeal to a newer style of collector. Times do change, with each new generation.
There will be a new glass coin series, new bird series according to my rep. Collector cases will be on sale next release. He said this year a new effigy will be released. I was commenting on the amount of former effigies used lately and how nice it is. Apparently the Longest Reign set was suppose to have 5 different portraits, however, the new portrait isn't ready yet. I hope they do a crowned one. I don't like the uncrowned queen or her fathers portraits.
