If you "could care less" that means that you care some... how much we cannot be sure. Maybe you "couldn't care less" which would mean you don't care at all.

Just saying...

Like you I hate staples and have used self-sealing holders but sometimes I did what you do to regular holders with one exception. Rather than peel the plastic back I would take a sharp edge and scratch into the plastic until you get to the cardboard and then use Elmer's glue (just in case it hit the coin, it washes of with water) which bonds cardboard together well. Then I use Popsicle sticks and small clamps and let it go for a day. Very labor intensive.

XavierZ: That's pretty much the way I did it for the last 20 years, but I got really tired of peeling and scraping.

Holy Moly, why don't you use liquid nails and a vise.
But if you could do only one 2x2 a day then your going to need a dozen vice's .Oh ; and make sure you have enough tubes of liquid nails and paint thinner or turpentine for 2x2 clean up !
Sorry it's just a joke ,don't take it the wrong way.

I have no problem with using staples. I use smooth tip pliers to flatten them. This has worked just fine for years.

Always check with manufacturers as to their products. Some glues and tapes emit gasses as they dry. Gluing or taping a 2x2 may end up doing some damage if in the process gasses are emitted that harm the coins. I've used 3M clear tape to seal most of my 2x2 flips. Been doing this for a long, long time. Cheap and easy to apply and simply cut to open.

Because I already have the stapler and the pliers. No need to spend money when what I have works.

Ive got a stapler and pliers that work for me.
Ive never experimented with any tapes or glues.
If Ranger Wonder Tape works for you, that is awesome.
My U.S. Cent album is 1.5x1.5's put in the 30 pocket pages with no staples, just folded.

I feel much better about my OCD tendencies after reading this thread. I'm fine with staples. When I pop coins out of 2x2s I just use a tooth pick to puncture the plastic and run it around the rim and the coin comes right out. Danger of staple damage.
