Tell your teacher you'd like to donate the project coins to him/her for science. Not "technically" a bribe...and you're sure to Ace the assignment!
(I kid)

Great presentation.

The couple misspellings aside I found it very well done and precisely informative. Good job.

Nice job!

The only problem is with the cents, they would have to be nearly identical to make a strong comparison. The only proper way to test would be to buy mint state examples, strip the zinc and then artificially rust the coins to the same level.

What did you use to determine the percent removal? Did you weigh the coins before and after using an analytical balance?

In procedure: rinse you missed the n.
In Conclusion: solely, you spelled soly. Anyhows, I would drop the s.

Sorry, I'm a stickler.

Oops! Thanks for letting me know, SpaceMaNy0! You have failed me for the last time, google spell check (starwars reference)

And, BadThad, I used before photos of each coin. It was had, but I used math (gasp) to roughly figure the amount of rust removed (by using area). I also used the real coins to compare to the before photos, just in case something wasn't shown in hand. For most things, I rounded up. The toothpaste, for example, only removed about 33.45%, but I rounded it up to 35% . An as for the fact that they rust at different levels, I choose out these guys at the LCS to make sure that they all have the same amount of rust... Although, its technically impossible for them to have the exact same... Might need to add that to the "errors" section!

Interesting read and nice job COTW. This past week I sorted my cents and found like 30 nasty steel cents. This makes me want to try and clean a few of them! You should get an A on this assignment!
