The Santa dollar bills are real one dollar bills with a sticker of Santa covering George Washington.

@CelticKnot Wikipedia has a page on Christmas Clubs, it's basically a type of savings program. Wiki says they started during the Great Depression, but techwriter's cheque predates that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_club

Quote: Cascade, is the Santa note real? Yes, it's a real $1 note with a Santa portrait almost seamlessly glued on top of George.

Since we're here thought I'd post a few more of my favorite 'pieces of paper' == Christmas 1917 == Christmas 1940 == Christmas 1956 == Christmas 1960

Those are great pieces. I especially like the 1917 one.

Love them all!
(sigh) I miss the good old days when the banks still used paper.

Love it. I really like the old-fashioned stuff. I suppose that's because I'm old-fashioned -- or just old.

Okay, I admit it I'm just a sentimental soul; this one brings back memories of happy days at Christmas. ==
