Coincollector2012, you got a nice selection of coins!
I keep looking at the reverse of the 1858. There seems to be a U on the shield. Is that a clash?
No matter what it is, that coin is one nice piece of history.

A clash shouldn't affect the devices. I see that too, though.

It looks raised. My first thought was a dropped letter, but that would also have to be incuse.

It's a puzzle.
Needs to be posted in the error section so the experts can have a look.

Yes, that raised lump in the shield is a clash. Very common and no premium. My 1858 has it and an 1858 I'm looking at also has it.

It can't be a clash. Clashes never affect the devices.

Quote: It can't be a clash. Clashes never affect the devices. Numisma, this is incorrect. Case in point, the eisenhower talon-head clashes. If a device is shallow enough and there is an element on the other die that can reach the shallow device then boom you have a clash in a device

I got a very nice surprise from our fine Slovenian Member Dagaz!
We traded about two months ago but I did not get around to looking at them until last night. Then the mail man brought another package from him just today which he shipped on the 19th!
In total, He added 37 new coins and several upgrades to my country/denomination Euro set. Including two Slovenian 3 Euro coins and a Vatican 50 Euro cent!
The 3 euro and the Latvian set are truly beautiful!
Thank you Dagaz!
