True the way the brick work is depicted does look similar to fingerprints, especially in the artist rendering. Great effect in hand in the video. Much better than those ugly wavy lines on the obverse on large coins. Those lines really are off putting. I prefer who the do the fields on the large circulation color coins, it gives a bit of texture.

I think potential buyers of this coin would be far better served by taking a tour of the Parliment buildings, snapping photos of the real thing, enlarge it to poster size and use for wall art or whatever if so inclined. There are some images that just don't work well on the small size of a silver coin and I think this is a perfect example. It makes an old piece of art appear pure ugly. |

Nicely executed, with the UHR artwork, but very "niche" coin.
While the "Masks" could be purchased, cause all tribal is "in trend" , this one for very small circle of collectors.
Should be 1.000 mintage, and priced much lower, to be considered purchased by average NCLT collector.

After some debate, I did opt to purchase the coin. I received it almost immediately. It is a very nice looking coin. The photos on the RCM site are a pretty good proxy of what it looks like in hand. I purchased it because of significant interest in Celtics history, more so than the fact that is a representation of sculptures in the Parliament buildings. |

Clvlys, yours is an interesting reason for buying this coin, and a perfect example of why there's sometimes appeal beyond the general appearance of NCLT.

I pulled the trigger on this set, being that I'm highly interested in architectural history. If I had the budget, I would have purchased the 100th anniversary of the Parliament fire coin as well (but I'll wait for this one on sale in a year). Excuse the horrible quality photos... my DSLR is at the office, and I was forced to rely on the fiancee's iphone (no zoom), an eraser for a display stand (bonus points for creativity?), and VERY poor lighting for the photos. I'm almost embarrassed to post these this evening - they are not at all up to my personal standards - but here it goes...    The RCM display case is well executed. It has a nice cherry color, and the RCM logo is "branded" into the wood on the top surface. The lid is magnetic (magnetic closer), and is hinged to the base (sturdy construction). The "Wild Green Man" coin is also well done. The relief is impressive. The depth of the engraving in the beard and hair stands out. My two main motivations behind making this purchase: 1) As mentioned above, I'm an architectural history buff. Unrelated to this post, but as a side project, I'm involved in a campaign to save / relocate one of the only wooden grain elevators remaining in Eastern Manitoba. Things are looking good with our campaign! I managed to pick one of these sets up for slightly below issue a couple of months back, and I was blown away by the detail. I had assumed that this set would be similar, and I'm not disappointed. I must note, however, that the remaining two coins will determine if this series matches the overall aesthetic appeal of the moon mask set. If I can find time this weekend, I will post better photos! |

Blastoff a stunning coin more close ups would be great when you get time. It is even more incredible than what I saw in the coin show. Its hard to pick out the elements I like best. Interesting way to depict the brick wall. The hair almost like flames, truly a wild man appearance. My eyes are getting tricked into thinking he has 2 sets of eyes. The case is very desirable too. I like the color of stain of it. The mint a beautiful job on this coin. Could you do a photo showing height of relief. You must be thrilled with this coin!
Its sad how the old grain elevators are disappearing. I miss seeing them. You could always tell what town you were passing. The would be cool depicted on a coin. I hope your group is successful in saving it!

It does not work for me at all. The wavy lines on the reverse are too distracting (IMO a ploy by the RCM to cover up poor quality coins). Beside, I'm avoiding RCM subscriptions... and $150 for an ounce of silver!? Outch. |

@canadian_coins In honesty, I think the "wavy lines" / "brick-like background" was placed to provide the impression that the face was "carved" from stone. Most Green Man sculptures are carved from a larger block of stone, with this block forming the immediate background of the sculpture. Agree with you however, about two things: - Coin has a limited audience, not for everyone - Background does allow the RCM to mask imperfections If you like the style of the Moon Mask set from last year, there is likely some appeal here! |

I'm keen to add something with high relief to my collection, and I'm also keen on the subject for this series, but I'm not particularly fond of the field -- specifically with the blend from field to mask. I do wish I'd been in the scene soon enough to get a nice new set of the moon series... It's not really the type of thing I'd like to buy off ebay, is it possible that someone would have a set at a coin show in Toronto one of these days? Or maybe I can get on a train to Ottawa this week/weekend for the RCNA convention... I just don't have *any* idea what I'd be likely to find there as I'm a coin show virgin. |

Just wait you will find all these coins for well below issue, the RCNA show is great to visit but not to just get this set, eventually you will find it on ebay for below list. |

While I planning to keep 2015 Masks set for long - I like them much, just recently sold 2014 UHR mask for 50% from issue. As for UHR (Ultra High Relief) I am keeping the Masks set and Lynx coin . I agree with John, just wait a bit, you will be able to get recent UHR RCM coins for reduced price. |

please please! What do you think of the case. I never thought of it fitting in with the mask coins. It probably do nicely along side, it defiantly not a run of the mill coin. Come on do some bragging. It was fast delivery!
