Well my coin arrived at 10 Am this morning! . I couldn't wait til it got dark at 5:30 pm to play with my coin! I like it more than I expected. I started looking over the beautifully done beauty box. It does add to the appeal. There is a raised design of the wolves. Then I proceed to the queen side, not as impressed, it has those wavy lines. They aren't as distracting as the Voyaguer dollar. Good thing I'm not interested in this side. The wolfs are blacker than I expected. The paint looks like there is some texture on it. Reading the COA, it's a Baffin Island scene, my father did off shore oil drilling in early seventies in the area, so an added connection for me. The purples are not as prominent as I feared. The colours are beautiful, more than I had hoped! Now the glow function is astounding, you feel apart of the scene! Absolutely stunning color effect. The northern lights come alive and the blues of the snow start to glow vibrant. I charged it with my phone flashlight for 1.5 mins, it was hard to wait!! Here are some pics, which do this coin a disservice! The glow photo was with no flash in darkish room. I need to do more experimenting to get a better glow photo. I forgot to add the coin has a nice heft to it. I really like the larger canvass of 2 Oz. I am sorry, I didn't see my phone rotated my picks on the upload. I don't know it how to do it from the computer.

Amazing! I can certainly see why you're thrilled. Too bad RCM doesn't sell custom fit wall plaques to go with it, your northern lights could put on a show for you every evening!

Its fun for long winter nights! I didn't think I would be into the glow function do much. I am little a little kid. Its the subject matter that grabs me. I doubt I would like the first one as much. The color combinations are gorgeous. Steven hit this coin out of the ballpark
Wildflower a wall mounted shadow box would be a brilliant idea. I need to find my coin easel, as its propped up in its case on my coffee table near me. I almost bypassed it as too gimmicky. I didn't care for glowing dino coins. Its nice just with a light shining on it. I can image being out there with the wolves. I now understand why my father loved the artic so much.

Thanks for the pics pocket change. Gorgeous! Looking forward to having fun with mine.
I like this design much better than the first coin, not only the composition, but also the subject matter...wolves and northern lights. Can't go wrong with that!

Sorry, pocket change 50 for not posting pics- I sent mine back for a replacement (black material on left side of coin). Yours doesn't have it.

A coin easel. Perfect idea! I was halfway serious about the wall, well maybe more than halfway. Or perhaps I've changed over time but it makes no sense to me to buy NCLT for the appeal of the artistry if it's inconvenient to view and appreciate. I now have one certain location in the house that I display and rotate one NCLT coin or set from time to time. Stored away, no point in having bought it.

Quote: Stored away, no point in having bought it. You partially right Wildflower, but I think, only 10% of the collectors display / have ability to display the coin (any coin), but they still collect... We usually buy the coin, and after getting it, the box (with the coin inside) goes directly to be additional "brick" in the stash of similar boxes. And all the target is to know: "X" was a very low mintage coin...yes, I have it "Y" now sells for triple issue...lucky me, I have it "Z" is the key-date coin...got it before sellout "A" is the Mint-first with the special package...I have it

Yes, excellent observation.
And I'm not suggesting that I'd ever leave pricey NCLT laying in full view all over the place. But indeed there can be a very fine line between buying and compulsive shopping. The anticipation of waiting for the delivery of the postal package, the thrill of opening it up, then almost immediately adding it to the stash (truly, I've been there), to me is an indication of hiding the evidence of buying for wrong reasons. "Gotta have, but why?" Especially when by that time another month has arrived with entirely new buying "opportunities" and so the cycle repeats itself.

MoneyPenney, click on "2 sold" and you'll notice the date and prices that those 2 sold for. The seller has only now upped the price to $400.

CAD 400 for 2oz of silver coin without significant theme or exceptional characteristic?
I sure, the seller will do good money on this, and what will drive the buyer here? I understand collectors who bought it for issue due to the design, but no need to overpay....
