Thanks for the input. I'm going to have to find a nice magnifier and see if I can distinguish a mint mark. That would make it even cooler!

The more I look at it, the more I'm confident it has a mint mark, but I still can't quite figure out which

Sorry for the double post but I wondered if anyone can give an idea of what a dateless Type I is worth, and if I can expect to still get the higher value of the D and S mints if I can ascertain what the mint mark is. Thanks

A 1913S type 1 in VF condition is worth about $60 in today's market I think. So if you have a type one with no date it will only be worth a few bucks as has been said. I think this is a good time to buy higher quality Buffalo's since they are being discounted from what I have seen lately. I don't know exactly why? For myself I mean F+ and VF key dates.
These are affordable.

Fun find! Try taking a picture with a flat, dark backing. It may help the camera focus on the subject item better.

If it's dateless even with the S mintmark don't expect it to fetch more than a couple of bucks on ebay. Still a very nice find for face value, though!

Yeah I don't expect much, but if I can verify it I'll probably try to get $4-5 for it. If not, I'll keep it as a cool find in my collection

I bet it's not "dateless".

It is a '13-S type I but with so little wear it should have what we used to call a "one digit date". This is just enough to identify the date. As such it's in Fr to P condition and used to trade at about 1/2 of the AG price which was half of the G price.

A two digit date will grade AG or G.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
