I'm going to say it looks legit. I don't see anything wrong with it, looks well struck, sharp devices from what I can see, no mushiness in devices.

Though I do see something wonky on the mark above the "c" mint mark.

Pretty sneaky if it's not legit, bad pics, putting it in that old flip from the 60's, while those staples look brand new?

Anyways, I believe it's genuine, but who knows nowadays.

My humble opinion is avoid. I do agree that the photos do look blurry/fuzzy.

The "T" in "CENT" on the reverse, the stem of the letter T is not that straight. Edit here for clarity.

Take a closer look at obverse, the "R" in "DEI GRA.", part of it looks missing. The P in "IMP" does not look proportional to its neighboring letters, compare to what I see in the other Newfoundland 1946 5 cent examples in the following links,

Thesifu is right the "t" doesn't flare out as it should, but again those pictures, geesh. I'm still leaning towards genuine, I'm ok with the other letters, the light leg in the "r" is an acceptable anomaly, it happens in all sorts of genuine coins.

Out of character compared to past sold items, I checked a lot of sold items and only 2 where slightly over $100 everything else well under. You would think good quality pics would be in line for this ad being the most expensive item the seller's sold, that I've seen.
As for the coin I wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole based on those pics and some prior communication with that seller. Maybe ask for better pics, I did notice he takes poor pics when he's not using a photo from the net or his stock.
A couple things about the coin dont look right but that could change with better pics.

Be nice to just see better pictures, then I think we could tell. Unfortunately the fakes are getting so darned good now. Over on the U.S. Boards some of the coins shown never fully get figured out weather genuine or not until graded, early wheat pennies inparticular.

Can't be certain due the out of focus pics but the coin is likely genuine. The date, which is usually a giveaway for the counterfeits of this coin, appears to be the right width, height, font etc.
Best to stay away from this one though.

Blurry pics,

... and the zoom is not offered on such a tough piece.

I never understand that..

Legit or not,
I wouldn't touch it with GSP.
Cost over 100.00 for shipping.

Why wouldn't he have taken it out of the 2x2 and shown clearer pics, I'd be afraid of this one.

Coin looks legit to me . Would not buy it though . Most buyers for these will step up and want an UNC example certified.
Personally this is one of my top ten Canada, and related areas pieces that falls into the overrated and overpriced area, right up there with the 1948 Dollar.
Every one of the alleged 2041 minted is probably still around along with a few thou more. Truth is no one really knows the true mintage figure , due to poor record keeping at the RCM back in the day.
I have handled at least ten of these in the last 40 years and can say with dead certainty there is more than one die pairing.

Looks like the seller sold another in December?

Certainly not the same 2x2, I tried matching the coins up and I don't think they are the same coin?

I've looked until my tired eyes are really TIRED. I hate it when there is no magnification offered on such key items; always makes me think there's something to hide.
Real or not? I have decided I have no opinion just a few questions that are unanswered.
So, following sage advice from years ago I PASS.

The fact that he sold an identical coin a month ago is enough for me to stay away.
