Strange thing the mints picture of the queen doesn't show any curve it just looks flat. Has anyone seen an image of the queens image that is curved. When I just look at the RCM page it had over 1700 views, very interesting. I want one, but at a $110 max. I feel at currant mintage its overpriced.

Quote: I thought it rather odd that a 140th anniversary of anything becomes a NCLT theme It does give me hope however, for my theme suggestion that I submitted two years ago, celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Geological Survey of Canada. Canada's oldest scientific institute, a full 25 years before we become a country, and those early surveys helped build the country, pointing where coal was and where railways should be built to connect the country. I have a bias of course, since I am a research scientist with the GSC. The main issue is that the 175th anniversary is 2017... competing with Canada's 150th...

Now there is a worthy and unique theme, something that is not overdone. It has so many possibilities, I hope they adopt the suggestion. Lets lobby them for it.

SPP-Ottawa, JeRÔME HOSMER ReMICK III ( 1928 - 2005 ) would definitely have supported your theme proposition! He is the one who got me interested in coin collecting when I was a kid. His medals remain the pieces in my (small) collection that generate the most questions. http://www.canadiangeologicalfounda.../Remick.html

I did buy this RCM first ever concave coin and I find it magnificent. Of course, slightly bigger - ;-) see this picture from the unveiling ceremony : http://canadiancoinnews.com/first-e...arliament-2/ - would be great but it is still an awesome and unique coin. No wonder it sold out fast.

to the CCF, Ottawa Voyageur Congrats for adding great piece to your collection. Quote: it is still an awesome and unique coin. No wonder it sold out fast. It is really nice coin, but I was under impression that will not be sold out at all, due to "not for everyone theme".

it's still available everywhere else. I find the coin is a bit too Small. It would be nice if it is 2oz instead of 1oz

Quote: What do you think of it, in hand. I'm am quite impressed with it - in hand. I was surprised to see it in antique finish, despite the pictures on mint.ca. It's kind of odd to hold with it's parabolic shape. This is my first coin of this type. It's growing on me. I like it more now, then when it first arrived.

I picked up some US baseball concave coins in proof finish, looks really good in hand, was not sure of this coin in antique finish, glad you like it in hand.

Hi John100. I must say I really like this coin in hand. The obverse side of this coin is quite special too.
I have just spent over 30 minutes trying to upload a picture (sideways) or to provide a link leading to it and it just won't work. I must admit, I haven't read the tutorial that are recommended for this website yet, but... in any case, this is definitely not a user-friendly site. Sorry... quite painful for a first experience.

Sorry to hear this... No need to read any tutorial. The picture loaded in 4 clicks or 20 seconds

I noticed the Library of Parliament coin still for sale at a CP outlet in a Shoppers Drugmart, West Edmonton. The coin's no longer listed on CP's website, I had sort of assumed outlets were somehow inter-connected but seems not to be the case.
