First, I was thinking proof sets, where there is no cellophane of any type, hence my question. I read mint sets and processed proof in my head. My apologies there.
Second. I wasnt being angry. Not in the least. I was simply saying no one in their right mind would pay a premium for a proof set with two of the same. Remember, I duhed out and was thinking proof. Dont be quite so sensitive dude.
As for MINT sets. Yep, that would be really difficult for someone to switch those out. And as said, that isn't really an error, so I cant see someone paying a whole lot extra for one. I wouldnt think more than maybe 10% above value as a curiosity kind of thing.

Quote: I read mint sets and processed proof in my head. I did too. But this makes more sense as we're not in the NIFC forum. Quote: I cant see someone paying a whole lot extra for one. Nor I. Doesn't stop people from asking a whole lot extra...

Quote: Dont be quite so sensitive dude. Then read the original thread properly dude.... I way to old to be called dude. Way too many times in this forum I read posts like yours where folks jump right away without properly reading the thread. The proper way for you to respond was to simply say I should have read the thread better. I'm sorry. then leave it at that. This response again proves that our society has reached a point of 'deflect blame' any time we can instead of being humble and apologizing.

No one is ever to old to be called dude.
And I did say my apologies for mis reading it.
But whatever. Clearly you are intent on taking everything I say in a negative fashion. No skin off my back.

and typically along with a bunch of other deflecting words as well. You're right though you did apologize about missing the fact that it was a mint set and not a proof set, but your other remarks were just as rude. As is calling someone 'dude'...

Ok ... Y'all made me go check a couple of mine, to see if I had any special ones. Of the ones I have not broke open yet .. all have the correct quarters.

GR58, I went through a bunch of sets when I built my albums. Never found one like that. It IS uncommon, but not overly valuable I think.

Not sure what I would do with one if I found one.
I do remember finding a 2004 set, that looked like it has a Texas quarter with a satin finish. Of course satin finish coins did not start until 2005.
Not sure what I did with that quarter.

Let's face it, the quality control just isn't was it should be at the US mint

I wouldn't even go that far. Based on what I've received, I'd say that there is not quality control at the US mint. There certainly is no visual inspection.
