I'm not sure of this, the ladybug has had it's run, plus the RCM with increased mintage and greed just destroyed the series.

Right now in my ebay auctions, I have a few coins going for above issue-price. 2008 Montreal Canadiens Loonie $36.99 ($24.95 for entire set) 2009 Congratulations Quarter $35.00 ($9.95 for coin) 2009 Oh Canada Quarter $31.00 ($19.95 for entire set) 2010 Oh Canada Quarter $35.00 ($19.95 for entire set) 2014 Wedding Loonie $24.50 ($19.95 for entire set) It always boggles my mind whenever I do mass sales of coins. There's always those random coins I don't expect to fetch much and someone goes crazy bidding on them. lol I expect a ton of other coins to surpass listing prices, especially my 1998W 2000W 2003W 1999P and Test Token coins.

As per design and efforts involved (Goalie Mask coin) and theme (Ladybug) - they do not worth a fraction of asking price. Ofcause, coin collecting covers multiple factors, so they are the Winners...

i havent tabulated my totals yet for the 2015 privy ANA silver maple leaf but it does look like cutting it to 5,000 helped prices... graded PF 69s slabs looked like they came in mid/high 60s while pf 70s run around mid 150s. I am in the process of putting numbers together but I can certainly see that by the mint reducing numbers, it bumped up prices on the secondary market on auctions. Tie in the fact that PM prices are looking better this year and trying to break the down trend (silver looking better every week, gold has been in an uptrend this year and broke the down trend) and you have a good reward here for collectors of these coins. I been so caught up in compiling data on these that I actually have NOT been able to get one yet lol :/

2009 Summer Moon Mask holds a fair premium over the original purchase price. People thought it was an ugly coin and dismissed it. The coin suffered poor sales and was a dud! When the actual mintage of the coin was released at 2834 the coin became highly sought after and the price sky rocketed.

To be fair, all older released NCLT gold coins have significantly risen in value due to higher gold prices. The 1/2oz Gold Haida was issued at $414.95? In 1997 the spot price of gold was appx Cdn $500oz, today it's more than tripled at just under $1600.

Yes thats an excellent point, the rising gold price.
I think we are about to see Part II of this. In other words, as prices of gold rise and rise above the mints issue price, that gap narrows, thus helping the coin's price from the Mints price.
It fascinating to see the impact of rising gold prices to all NCLT coins just before it took off lol.

The coins from the 2015 Mask Set - had a lowest mintage ever, that 1oz silver coin by RCM had. So the final mintage might be very low, but probably unknown. I can sell this one for "comfortable price" (compares market price), if buyer will take also 2013 + 2014 Mask for 2/3 from issue.

Yes it certainly is fascinating to observe. As far as new release gold NCLT, RCM generally adds a premium of about x2 over spot price, for example the bullion value of the 2016 Parliament Fire at 14k 12 gram is about $360. It would take an incredible hike in gold value to offset decreasing collector demand that occurs over time, if one buys with future profit in mind. So that's what I do as far as gold NCLT, watch! Lol! The other interesting thing going on right now is our low loonie. While gold has recently increased in value in Canada, it's flat in the US. If/when the value of our Cdn dollar increases and if world gold prices remain constant, Cdn gold spot price will fall. Therefore the volatility of gold is caused not only by gold markets in general, but is significantly impacted by the value of our Cdn currency as well.

I think, now that gold is in an uptrend and prices have broken the downtrend, we will be seeing the ole " a rising tide lifts all boats" sort of thing with all NCLT coins including NCLT coins. Silver is close and price action is constructive. Looks to me like the RCM got a pass from the PM markets lol. Now if they keep up with trimming mintage numbers such as they did with the 2015 ANA privy maple leaf, I think these coins have a chance to appreciate, primarily due to rising PM prices. Part II... here we come lol
