Lowball Ike Is This Natural Wear? Quick Response Please

I am sure your will have a better feel for its status once you have it in hand. For what it is worth, I do not think the scratches look bad, at least not bad enough to prevent your from carrying it around a while to add some wear.

Everyone hated it when it was issued, it was never used in everyday commerce, and it was certainly the ugliest US coin ever issued before the SBA dollar, which of course will never be topped (or bottomed).

So what the heck can we expect for a lowball coin from a non-circulating issue?

My 7070 is pretty lax retirement home for abused coins. I just don't allow cleaned coins in. Well until they retone haha. My lowball I mean all of my coins would grade low g to ag I would think and relatively smooth. Not looking for like perfect 01 coin.

Would it be details from the deep scratches? I'm not much into graded slab coins to know what wouldn't pass besides cleaning.

I bought a graded 69 comm half dollar for like $10 once for novelty and haven't really wanted another graded coin. It's just not the type of coins I collect since I like circulated toned silver coins.

I figured I would be hard pressed to find one around me in that condition. Do you guys think this is a pocket piece or a slot machine coin or someone quickly mechanically wore it down? How would you tell the difference.

When it comes I take more pictures so you guys can trade and I break out my Morgan and Peace and compare them. I just need a Susan B Anthony. Which is going to be super hard. The quarter size means I can't wear it myself I loose it in a heartbeat though none of the others were my pocket pieces either.

Yeah the wear on the letters looks normal to me the same thing happens with Peace dollars as they go slick. I was looking at pictures of graded ones and they do the same thing in Ike's.

Now if it comes and it's totally ugly and not repairable I have a plan. I bury it in my flower pot for a year and then dig it up. Once it has that nice red or black look I could make up a story of it being a object I found metal detecting at this burnt down house in the woods.

Said it was the owners old lucky dollar. I decided to keep it but strange things started happening and I believe it's the haunted vessel of a coin poltergeist. Then sell it for $1,000's for ebay.

You got to admit Ike dollars can look creepy in this shape. :)

Looks like it will have to be tomorrow a new great place opened up where I could get inventory and I got myself tired looking through the junk bins lol. I found some great toys and antiques but doubt you guys would be too interested haha. There was a few in town but they were all like 40 mins away and in bad neighborhoods. I could almost walk to this one. If only I could go through a dealers box that was 12'x4' like there lol.
