Where is he buying the bag from? Another attempt to fleece the unsuspecting.

Where do I buy bags that say "unsearched wheat cents"? Seems legit to me...

There are no unsearched wheat cents on ebay. That bag absolutely cracks me up!

I can't believe somebody actually paid a printing company to make those! He could have at least given the bag a coffee bath to make it look a bit older.

It may not be outright dishonesty, but the $11.97 shipping charge is for darn sure a deceptive practice.

I'm the one who bid. It says it's fastened and unsearched, so I figured it probably has some key dates in it. Is it not a good deal? Should I do a bid retraction?

I am going to make up some bags of "UNSEARCHED SHIELD CENTS", fill them with random shield cents from circulation. In my will, I will leave them to my first great grandchild (not born yet) upon their 18th birthday with instructions to sell them on ebay. Wait, ebay won't be around then....and the bags may just hold zinc dust by then.

Folks... we've become so accustomed to searching for the single leaf in the forest that proves something is not as it seems, that we've missed the essential truth here - the entire listing is a Potemkin village. Every SINGLE ELEMENT here is illusion.
There is no such thing as unsearched - even the act of putting the 'old' ones in a jar is selection a/k/a search
There are no contemporary bags of unsearched wheat cents. Until the design change was announced, there was no reason to call them "wheat cents", they were just "cents". The oddity would have been the occasional Indian Head still in circulation. The design change announcement came very late in 1958, according to Q David Bowers' 2008 A Guide Book of Lincoln Cents, it wasn't publically known until December 21, 1958. The coins were released officially on February 12, 1959.
The bag is clearly not as old as I am - it has much less wear and dust and dirt accumulated.
The seal isn't (a seal).
etc.
