Trout, now that you have examples graded as SP by NGC you can stir the pot at PCGS by sending a slabbed example to PCGS and request a crossover as SP.

PCGS can kiss my Butt, they had every chance in the world to get this right and they flatly refused.
Anyway why would I bother with a crossover ?
The coins are in a "Righteous" slab as they are

I have asked NGC to create a competitive set for the Wedding set coins 2002-2009 so that I and other collectors can add their coins to it.
This is the same thing as the PCGS set registry.
As PCGS won't attribute the Wedding Set coins as Specimens because these coins are used by collectors to add high grade coins that are not available in any other form to their Decimal set registries at PCGS.
It's a pretty dodgy state of affairs when a TPG attributes a coin to suit the market instead of attributing accurately

You are a formidable proponent for Australian Numismatics, Trout. I have you, it seems, to thank for such a beautiful coin graded correctly! :-)

2004 20c (large head/Pointy A)

This is graded by NGC as SP69

A truly spectacular coin and a new favourite purchase.

I am glad you like the coin
Unless you have actually seen these Wedding set coins "In Hand" you will find it hard to appreciate just how nice they are.

I completely agree, Trout. I bought that one on ebay. Couldn't resist. It looked so nice I had to see it in person. I have shown this coin to a few family members who have no interest in coins and they were a little mesmerized.

I have just finished reading this thread. I have always thought the Wedding Sets to be undervalued and have collected a number of them.

I was also reminded of the time I was at the mint and a couple of parents wanted to buy their son or daughter a Wedding Set for their upcoming marriage. The guy behind the counter commented that Wedding Set were Proof coins and would make a great gift. This was in the days before they were actually changed to Proof Sets. I couldn't help myself and advised him that they were actually Specimen and not Proof. His reply was that he worked at the mint and knew what he was talking about. I was wrong. They were Proof. I never forgot that. What an idiot LOL. Incidentally, the parents went away confused without purchasing anything.

So I am wondering if the Wedding set 2002-2009 are the only SP Australian coins out there?
Now that PCGS has recognised them as such.
