As you get further along you will be amazed how fast you can go through 1000 cents! I work nights myself so when I get home to peace and quiet and unwind I'm doing most of my searching with the tube on late at night-I am not a seller but I do some trading...

I bank at Wells Fargo. I have 6 branches within 5 miles of my house and 15 within 10 miles. I just buy bricks that they roll or that customers have brought in or ones they get from their change service. They are not ones I have searched because I dump in Coinstar which ships theirs out to be rolled elsewhere. The reason I can look through so many is my job situation. I am an IT guy for an internet provider. I work from home at my desk. So I can search in between calls, sometime while I am on a call. It works out great for me. I do not sell enough to make a living, though I would love it if I could. I do know of two people that are able to do it. Both are on ebay and sell through Heritage and Teletrade.

Thanks to all on how they recycle their searched coins. As usual on CCF, there is valuable information ALL the time. I learn something new every time I get on.

I'm not big and rich, just a person who has a lot of cents. (pun intended sense)
Seem like most of the varieties are now found on the eastern part of the coast. No more RPMs on the 1990+ coins that we see so much here on the opposite part of the country. If we find a Philly cent here, that is a good day and they are pretty circulated at that point. Just snow birds bring them here.

Punny! I LOVE puns!!
I didn't mean that you're big & rich, it was more of a play on words (phrases I suppose). Your name is Richard & you're a "big-wig", at least here in the CCF.
For whatever reason I give nicknames to people. Not with every person & the name giving happens by chance. For example my bestest, closest friend doesn't have a nickname bc nothing has ever hit me in that way.

tedster, I agree if you are only doing abot $10-20 a week. I usually do $100-150 per week. That is a whole lot of rolling, giving me less time to search.

How do you guys search, I sort mine into wheaties, and then by 1960, 1970, 1980 and so on. I've found 2 San Francisco mint coins out of 4 boxes, it's pretty sad

There are a lot of years of which I dont check anything but rotation, cuds and clips-if I'm real antsy sometimes I will only sort out the well known DD years and toss the rest after a brief look over-suppose theres always that chance of a discovery coin but odds are thin and when I havent found anything good in long time I want to move through inventory somewhat fast to increase my odds

I love Florida. I was born there, my dad died there. Today's his birthday. I would totally live there if my son would come with me & if I could stand the summers. #feelingsentimental #tear

Thanks Seal, this was really great and thank you for taking the time to write it. I am definitely one of those Stupid People asking questions. Even for all the time I put into reading/research before I even joined the forum I still know nothing. I try too hard to see what is not there a lot of wishful thinking. I have been reading/research a lot this month with very little posting of my own, just doing a lot reading here on the forum and putting in my 2 cents here and there. I know someday it will click for me just wish that day would get here soon.

CoinCents, buy a nice, cheap doubled die. That way it will click much sooner.
