With everyone scrambling about trying to secure the Gold plated Round 50c with a mintage of 21966, they are forgetting that the 80% silver coin only has a mintage of 10,000 and IMHO is the far more collectable coin out of the two. This 21966 mintage is for the 2 different carded types of the gold plated coin , one with the date on it and one without. Regardless of what is printed on the packaging they are exactly the same coin. The dated GP coins are already on ebay at about $40 delivered. I think when the dust settles I think the Silver coin set will be pretty hard to find and I doubt that it will be available at issue price on the secondary market. In my opinion these sets are right up there with the 1966 proof and mint sets.

Personally I buy and find coins for enjoyment as a hobby and it's not a huge part of my life Can't understand why anyone other than a dealer takes the hobby so seriously to be posting on every forum 24/7 for purpose of being heard "look at me"

Many of the collectors and members on this site have this passion for numismatics, They care deeply about this hobby and that is the reason for their posts.

Runway,no need for negativity or Trolling on a Coin site,I've been posting on Forums since the late 1990's and the number of specialist Oz Forums that have disappeared in that time is considerable,you need a hard core of regular Posters to keep the momentum going or the forum will wither & die. I used to post(about Coins) on stamp Forums in the early days so great to see this sub-Forum and the Oz Coin site flowing along nicely.

If ya got 'em, flaunt 'em! I have noticed that sometimes with the fairer sex! Actually, there is some respect garnered when you build a museum quality collection of modern Australian coins. Perhaps trout may will a few of his choicest examples the the Royal Australian Mint Museum. I will bet you that in at least some cases, trout has the best examples, and they would certainly be a good acquisition the the RAM Museum.

Basil that's ok I'm not trolling and actually have been on forums both stamps and coins about as long as you. Yes we need regular posters but certain people become so abnoxious that causes people to leave and no longer post

Quote: Just noticed that the 1 and 2 cent coins in the In come the Dollars in come the Cents uncirculated set are actually Bronze and not copper. Why would they be copper? In any case, I think $66 is a good price.

I gave myself a metallurgy lesson after my posts.... I think everyone was being polite... Dont I feel sheepish.
Yes, in any case I think the sets are good, RAM has them "temporarily unavailable", which I've come to take as "nearly gone".

RAM had the Gold plated 50c as "sold out" on their website and yet had plenty on offer at the Melbourne swap event. I bought my usual 2 sets when these came out then purchased a further 10 sets when I saw the quality of the strike and the lack of bagging on them. The Baby sets are usually the best source of quality coins as of late but this in come the dollars/cents set is beautifully made and presented and with the exception of the slightly granular fields is a dead ringer for the 2002-2009 wedding set coins

Yeah,good call Trout,I'm sure these will be a $100+ set for years to come.Local Dealer has had a run after a slow start and has sold the initial 50 sets he listed.Another dealer has(apparently) sent over 20 sets for slabbing,interesting to see the market value on those.

I'd love to know who chose the title for this coin set. For a moment, I thought you were talking about the 2016 Uncirculated Year Set, and I had to do a double take.
The 2016 Uncirculated Year Set is filled with imagery from the song "In Come the Dollars and in Come the Cents", which you can find on YouTube, so why isn't it called the "In Come the Dollars in Come the Cents Uncirculated Set"?
This is most confusing, and has reminded me why I almost never collect uncirculated coins.

@Hercules.
The 2016 mint set with the commemorative designs are the same coins that will be issued for circulation this year. The "In come the Dollars/Cents set are the standard design coins with a round 80% Silver 50 cent coin in the set.
