Heck yeah I would have paid a quarter each. No idea what I would do with them after bit I am impulsive like that. lol  to the forums! |

Id hàve picked them upalso Tedster, and I'm not really into lws. Good find. Makes it a great find that your granddaughter enjoys them.

I LOOK for third party slabs. BUY THE COIN, NOT THE SLAB!! THAT is the rule.

Good finds when I am out with my son I will buy coins like that it helps teach the kids about the hobby and teaches them some things is worth more than face value and at 25 cent a piece that is a good price,heck just the slabs alone are worth 25 cents.thank you for sharing nice to meet another dad trying to get there kid into the hobby.

Glad everyone is playing nice in the sandbox - misunderstandings happen, and, like people say, this is one of the more friendly coin forums.
To stay on topic I picked up a 5 Franc Swiss copper-nickel piece from a dealer's 5-for-a-buck box at the January FUN show. Swiss money is still good as they don't use Euros. At today's exchange rate that's a $5.10 pickup for 20c. Now all I have to do is go to Switzerland to spend it....

Hey please stay with us, there are a lot of people and diferente ways of try and help , some are more direct and some more sensitive , but I think we are here to help each order and share informations, I liked your coins snd I'm Sure your grandkid is enjoying a lot her treasure !  |

Tedster, wanted to say welcome to the forum. I think it is awesome that you are getting your grandchildren involved in coin collecting. If my grandfather would have given me a coin like that when I was young, I definitely would have thought the world of it. I am sorry that you had a bad experience but truly hope that you stay with us and enjoy some of the topics here. Thank you for sharing.

Well after reading all the comments carefully , and as a new member I can tell Ted that this community is really like a "family " , sometimes we have some disagreements and hurt ( not on purpose )others but it's a great place to learn and sometimes I got a little sad when I think I found something "special " and then someone say ...no don't waste time it's a common coin lol I respect people's opinion that has more knowledge than me ,this forum has people that really understand about coins and they do a wonderful job here answering all the questions and helping all levels of collectors .... You're a great grampa , teaching values for your kids , was a great gift ,hope she will be a collector like us someday!  |

I'm glad you found these, some of us don't have the money to slap on cert. coins and high dollar things. I drool on this forum mostly but I enjoy these too.
