Quote: should I have bought it? ....lol Not so hot to be profitable. Seasonal coin, that will be forgotten 2 month after the peak of interest.

Mintage still a little too high, too many hoarded now try to be flipped, one would guess the egg coin has just about the right mintage for this market.

The coin back in stock in the Talisman. USD 65 Definetively not hot. But, if someone will buy some amount, and will go on the Cherry Blossom week to the Toronto High Park (which will be extremely overcrowded) - good money to be made

Considering the egg coin was never available for sale by RCM to the general public I disagree that the mintage was right. Greater flipping opportunities do not attract more longterm collectors. RCM appears to rely on "sell outs" to increase their sales by attracting yet another whole new set of buyers who think there's easy money to be made on ebay by selling something that's scarce. The more flippers that NCLT attracts, the further prices eventually fall - as more and more longterm collectors exit, the downward spiral continues. If routine mintages of less than 10,000 are "too high" in a country of over 34 million people in a worldwide marketplace, the issue clearly is lack of interest in RCMs new releases. Purely as an observation though, for those of us who still do collect some NCLT, I suppose we should appreciate the flippers/short term hoarders because it offers a buying opportunity at a good discount to issue price in a few months or a couple years down the road.

The egg coin was available for sale at the RCM and other retailers but sold out pretty fast. Gatewest Coins had it as well as the Coin Shoppe. Also, some people were able to find it post offices. And the coin was available at the Vancouver Boutique. Remember a lot people were on the fence about and the success of it caught everyone by surprise. The coin was available for a whole week for MC members. I believe the 4000 low mintage did make a big difference. You see it with the birthstones too. The mintage of 3000 made it quickly sold out. The GITD 2 oz coins sold out fast too and they also had 4000 mintage. At 6500 mintage for the Cherry Blossom coin is too high. If it was at 4000 I am sure it would do much better on ebay. As been mention many times, the goal of the RCM is not to enrich flippers but to sell as many coins as possible. If there is another egg coin it will probably be more than 4000 mintage.

I didn't like the coin but my wife like it. Anyway, I was able to sell it on Kijiji for $90. So 40% return is not bad. Can't expect 100% on every coin.

When the coin shown signs of being popular, it was available only from the dealers with the shipping charge - so the return would be no worth at all.
