Hi Karel

I don't see the relevance of your post. This is not the first time I have set this trap when I hear through my very big grapevine that someone is plagiarizing my research.

The trap was set and Nortje walked right into it plagiarizing from a cut and paste from my website and then giving a different source as his reference in the appendix.

Not good.

It interests me that you still do not acknowledge the facts that:

a) Pierre Henri Nortje's award winning "research" is fatally flawed and that some of the sources he gives in the appendix are false. This reflects very badly on the National Numismatic Society and their motives in giving this flawed award.

b) not one Griquatown token ever circulated

As I said before I stand by my research. If you have doubts it's a free country go do your own research and then, if you have reason, challenge my research. This is my last response to your repetitive posts about the page Pierre Henri plagiarised.

--------------------------------------

With regard to the holed Griquatown token surely you are not suggesting that the extensive wear was because it circulated widely over a long period of time? Clearly it never did - even Pierre Henri in his flawed paper agrees with me about this. So taking out that option and seeing that the reason it was holed was so that the person holding it could place it on a necklace with his beads it is hardly presumptive to suggest that it was only ever worn as jewellery.

Hello Mr Balson,

Let me explain the relevance of my post. Please show me where you have changed your web page to set this trap. I cannot find it anywhere and suggest that your trap is a fabrication.

Karel

What is your real name?

Is it Nortje?

While you keep on demanding I answer your questions you never answer mine.

I told you the fact that Nortje plagiarizing my website and giving other references is proven yet you never respond to my questions. You do not dispute that Nortje plagiarized (ie cut and paste) from my website - yet gave his references as being from Schoeman's book.

I knew about Nortje's plagiarized research and his "cut and paste" not long after he released his flawed PDF but "kept my powder dry". The hole he has dug is too deep to climb out of and the controlling members of the National Numismatic Society committee (Wilson and Hern) who have held their positions for 30 years and have vested interests should resign and let fresh blood in.

This is the last time I respond to you in future unless have a question about my research based on research you do.

Hello Mr Balson,

I am not Nortje.

Your response confirms that you never laid a trap, but that it was after all a fabrication of a lie. Why would you do that. I suggest you offer an apology to the members of this forum.

"Karel"

My responses above confirm that you refuse to respond to the questions I ask you.

I do not keep diary notes of when I laid a trap in the past but I did recently for Nortje and he walked right into it.. then claimed to be the expert on this subject (which he is not)

You don't have to apologise because (whoever you are or represent) is unclear while I have been quite open about my identity.

I think that speaks volumes. You are a coward.

I am not going to engage any further discussion with someone who hides behind the name "Karel"

For the record this is the only thread that newly joined "Karel" has engaged in apart from attacking my comments about Morgan Carroll's new South African coin catalogue

Hello Mr Balson,

When I joined this thread I was hoping to have a discussion about Griqua coins. This has now changed course and will be difficult. However I think we can sum up our discussion thus far:

1. You quote unnamed sources
2. You have lied to further your numismatic argument
3. Your research has boiled down to a theory.

If you can prove differently, I will be the first to acknowledge this. I really hope this thread is not removed from this forum due to your personal attacks.

Thank you Fuzzy will do

I will not respond to whoever is behind Karel from now on

But would suggest people following this thread view: http://coinsrsa.com/The%20truth.pdf

to see the truth - in particular page 29 point 50

The bottom line is Nortje plagiarized (cut and paste) from my website information I had deliberately edited after hearing what he was up to.

He never bought a book simply used third party references like mine on the Internet then in his references suggested he had got his source from the original book.

He has been caught out and the world knows that now thanks to "Karel" who appears to be in his corner.

Thank you Karel

Hello Mr Balson,

You will be happy to learn that I am not batting for anyone.

I see you are perpetuating your lie, insisting that you have edited your web page when there is no proof of this. Why are you doing this. You might not keep a diary, but the internet does. I repeat, if you can prove me wrong, I will be the first to say so. Admit your mistake, apologise to the forum members for posting a lie and we can all move on.

"Karel" (Pierre Henri Nortje)

I believe the moderator had warned you earlier about keeping things civil.

Let the posts above speak for themselves.

My thanks go out to all the "real" South African numismatists who have contacted me and offered support and confirmed my views expressed here.

Like a bad penny, Mr Balson's lie keeps on popping up. He has now also repeated his lie about the Griquatown discussion on another forum. I keep on asking myself why he would continue lying despite being proven wrong. Any researcher worth his salt would not lie, and when given the facts would acknowledge his mistake. Maybe Mr Balson the theorist, with all his conspiracies, is now starting to show his true colors.

The facts speak for themselves Mr Nortje

http://coinsrsa.com/The%20truth.pdf

What is the truth?

Mr Nortje removed his flawed "research" from sale on the South African online auction BidorBuy when he realised that his plagiarising my research had been exposed in the link above.

The fact that only two of you are participating in this thread, speaks to its relevance... we're done here...
