Thanks for the heads up! 60 Minutes is on at 7pm EST where I'm at.

New, (2008), Steve Kroft interviews Barack Obama at his campaign headquarters on Super Tuesday; Katie Couric talks with Hillary Clinton; Morely Safer reports on weather the US Mint should continue to make pennies and nickels.

If cents and nickels were discontinued, what about having them only available via mint sets? Look at the halves, most aren't issued to circulation but they are still in sets.

Wow, did you see those new designs for the penny in 2009? Was disapointed that there were no wheat cents in these new designs.

I think we'll be seeing steel pennies after 09, just a hunch. I've seen the designs for the 09 penny before, and yeah I like them. We have enough wheat pennies out there anyways. If anything, put the VDB on the bottom again, 2009 S VDB :)

It turned out to be a very interesting program.

I got the feeling from watching it that there won't be any changes anytime soon.

Nice video.

Good to have a box in every store for penny for charity and using it and others may have less time of daily counting routine for other individual if they like.

In the Philippine we have been debased numerous times and change in coinage or series differrent times the inflation then till now is bad.

It will be worst if USA will remove its penny inflation will be high.

Then the individual will have a daily routine for counting in change in the next denomination and other will say,oh its just a lowest denomination its just a nickel or dime.wonder if that is the case what will be the highest denomination in notes the higher the value of notes the harder life is,just for me.

i say they should bring back the Half Cent, so people stop complaining about pennies and nickels, if the mint makes denomonations that are really worthless like mil's (1/10 of a cent) then our pennies and nickels are safe
