Sad choices, or poor choices, or simple ignorance. That said, I've never seen a Walker in the wild. What a treat that'd be.

A few years back , (OK quite a few years back) I was coin detecting with my uncle on an old school yard . he was not more than 8 feet away from me and he digs up a nice Walker in EF-AU condition , came up clean, you should have seen the look on his face when he held it up for me to look at .

Billymac11 I hope someday you will find one walk in the wild ,it's a great surprise ! Guess I'm a little luckier than others cause l live in a farm area so maybe I have more chances of someone try and spend his old farm grahmpa collection on neighborhood stores Nice sharing tbop ! Maybe someday I will rent a metal detector and make a tour near here Wondering what I can find ....

I was lucky as a young boy with a paper route in the early 50`s and I got walkers by the roll. Silver dollars, Standing Lib quarters and Washington quarters, mercurys, Buffalos and LWC and many others from circulation. Only trouble now is I am getting to old and most of you folks don't remember those years. Now a wheaty or buffalo or any silver are rare. But I did find a almost worn flat 1893 Barber .25 and several wheatys, and a 64D Wash.Quarter. In the last month. My Grandson will be happy in time. I'm glad I have a future collector in the family to take over my albums. One of my old friends just asked me to help him get rid of a bag of old coins and one is a 1/2 dime. I want to see them before he sells them to a pawn shop.

garys64wildcat , Tell your friend NOT to sell his coins to a pawn shop. Better to try to sell them privately to get best return for his coins.

It is funny that people call these silver coins "dirty old money". In fact, silver is an antiseptic and will kill anything dangerous. It is cleaner than our clean hands!
So collect and handle silver for your health!

Thanks T-BOP,
He said he will call me to look them over. He wants to get rid of some antiques, old jewelry, watches etc. I not sure on old jewelry, but the coins I do want to check out. Once I see I will post a list and hope there are somethings worth getting and trying to help him get a fair price. and maybe find something I need
