Some silver rings are coming off hold at the end of the week... I am thinking they might add a interesting look to my treasure box. Big gaudy rings ... might look good in the box. Have not bought any of them yet. Any thoughts ....

Rings would definitely give it more of a "pirate booty" flair than coins alone.

I am pretty sure I will be adding some of these rings to the box.
As long as no one else gets them after they are off hold ... The shop has to hold jewelry for 30 days.

Cross-eyed ... very nice looking box ....even better looking with all that silver.

It is amazing to me how silver can pile up, if you consistently buy small amounts of silver over a long period of time.
I wish I would have been even more focused 20 or 30 years ago.
I am still developing a vision of building a better and bigger chest . I do have about $500 face in 90% silver that is not in the box.
One thing has me wondering... because of weight .. what is the biggest chest I would want. I am thinking 50 to 75 lbs. would be about as big as I would want.

The rings were available today .. so picked up some of them and a little silver. I really like large silver coins and this 2003 Australia 2oz. Lunar year of the Goat fits right in Of course the more I put into the box .. the more I like it

A little more silver for the box. Almost a year now .. I think I have taken this thread as far as it needs to go. I hope I gave some newer collectors so ideas. Maybe show how putting a little silver away each week can add up. Maybe I will do a update post, when I get a new box, or hit 400 .. maybe 500oz. of silver. Here is where I started a year ago. Here is where I am now .. 280oz.

Awesome job! 280-ish (minus what you started with) in a year stashed away is very nice! Also tons of variety in there too. Awesome to look at!

Empty cigar boxes make great coin storage units. They come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors, and often can be purchased at tobacco specialty shops for a pittance. Or you can go the flea market/resale shop route, where all sorts of suitable containers show up on a regular basis. It's also not that difficult to create something on your own if you have basic woodworking skills and a few tools. Hmmm.. maybe there is a market for these.. I should buy a new blade for my table saw..
