I don't think so. I don't see any zinc showing, and it's not the shape I would expect for displaced metal from a cut.

I want to call this a split die. The raised surface seems to be a lot higher than normal. So I sent Mike an email.

Please don't touch it anymore! You might not see it now, but oils from fingers can stain and attract dust and dirt which stick to the coin lowering value.

Some would refer to it as a split die, while others would call it a rim-to-rim die crack, due to its relatively narrow width. I'm pretty sure the grading services would opt for the first designation. It's a rare find and undoubtedly worth some money.

Any ideas on what kind of money it might be worth? I went to a coin dealer today but the owner wasn't in to look at it.
