HI!
I also am addicted to Lincolns. Could I ask about what it runs to get a Dansco lincoln album (1909 to 2009 or beyond)--I have seen them about $25 on line and then theres shipping. It's So much fun--but my friends don't get it--YET! I have been telling them how much a 1909VDB S sells for and then the twinkle comes into their eyes and then they start checking every penny they see or find. The old saying about if a penny is heads down don't pick it up because it's bad luck doesn't ride here.

Well the local dealer I bought mine from cost me $36. I traded for most of that price with coins I didn't want to hang on to. Mainly littleton sets. My next purchase is going to be the slip cover to go with the book.

Hello, my name is Jim and I am a Lincoln-holic. I admit that I am powerless over Lincolns, and I need help. I too have been working on a Lincoln set, but I have the Dansco 7103 for the early dates and a Whitman 9141 for the memorials.

Yes we all realize the excitement of a new Album of almost any kind. And it is becoming more and more apparent everyone is impressed with Dansco. Of course they do look impressive on a book shelf, constructed very well, larger in height and depth over Whitman and many others. However, I am a Whitman user and would rather just go with the cheaper, less impressive Dansco Albums.
Still any album FULL of Lincon Cents is impressive so keep on collecting.

Well I went with the dansco for several reasons. Cost wasn't really a factor. I like the fact I can see the reverse of the coin. Then the extra protection of the plastic. Overall I bought it for the few extras that the Whitman albums don't have and paid the price. A full Album your right Carl is impressive dosen't matter if it's a whitman dansco or a 3 ring full of plastic sheets loaded with flips.

amac44 we could probabbly have daily meetings but I think it would just make us all worse lol

I understand that it can be worse than drugs. First it is a few Lincolns, then you try 3CNs, and before you know it you have a full blown Morgan addiction. Then you have to start trying to clean-up, and just when you think you have it licked, the "Dark Side" starts calling.
AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaa

Having this addiction is a gift, and should be cherished. Although, my wife likes to think differently. Put it this way, if these forums were about heroin/cocaine, we'd be in far worse shape. =)

So bring on more coins and addictions, I'm not scared :D

Actually, if you subscribe to Coin World you can get the Dansco for about what the Whitman costs at https://www.amosadvantage.com. Good deal, I have been buying all my albums there.

Hi...My name is Jim and I am a Lincoln-holic.

It all started when I went to the local flea market (thats where our coin dealers are here in Macon GA)last week. I bought an XF 1909 VDB for $10.00. (Pics are in the grading section) and the next thing I knew I bought a Dansco 8100. Then I bought six XF wheats to put in my Dansco and the rest is history. I am hooked.

Lord help me.

Well I have to say I'm glad I bought an album. It keeps me from looking endlessly for all kinds of coins. Now I focus on just The penny. My girlfriend made me stick my 1909 VDB in first. The whole that $35 penny you got better be the first one in that high dollar album.
