CC-Ottawa - Thanks for the video.
Yes I agree. I would't take coins out of the capsule to display.

Why you have to take out coin from the capsule, just because it shown this way?
All the digital pictures show the coin in the package without the capsule...

I had these with some of Perth Mint coins. And put the coin in it's capsule to the frame (it basically clear plastic flexible "walls", like packing tape). IMO - if you didn't plan to display the coin, these absolutely do not worth.

Floating frame...first I thought it was a frame that floats in water... I was like, why would you put a coin in a frame and then float it around on water lol.

It's looks like this in static picture.
Good way to display, but not for storage.

I was told by my rep that the coins can be kept in their capsules. I have ordered a few different sizes; however, if capsule must come off, the floating frames are going back.
Rest in Peace

rest assured, capsules will work with the 'floating frames'.

I like the Aussi dollar - Square coin in a square frame - very nice! (it is mounted with the capsule!)

Lighthouse has been selling those for a few months now...

Yeah, cdncoin used to carry them, and their prices were a bit cheaper than RCM's price. But it looks like cdncoin sold out and didn't restock them.

Here are some video for the lighthouse version:

No problem, New1954.

A word of caution though... For the Lighthouse version I bought a few years ago, the dimension specified is for the rim of the frame, not for the "window". The window of an 80mmx80mm frame is only 50mmx50mm. People might want to check with the Mint to confirm the size before buying.

From my experience, the 80mmx80mm frame fit a 1/4 oz silver coin well, and can barely fit a 1/2 oz coin, but definitely won't fit a 1 oz.

I've noticed the floating frames in the past and doing some searching, couldn't figure out why nobody seemed to be currently selling them.

Thanks very much for the information Nubee, as long as these frames work like they're supposed to I think they'll be hugely popular, looking forward to trying one out. The Cdn coin collection hobby can surely benefit from additional display options.

I bought a floating frame from RCM, the largest size they have (270x222x34mm). It is made by Lighthouse. There is nothing that says RCM on it. Just FYI in case anyone wonder..

Thanks for confirmation, Shopaholic, but ofcause they non-RCM, exactly as you mentioned earlier.

Unlike these, the Perth Mint, distributed some of it's coins in the frames, so the frame marked with PM's swan symbol.
And the frames that RCM distributes - just 3-rd party accessory (what is basically doesn't mater).

I like these floating frames. I might have to try the large one to display my 12 Caesars set.
