I better start speaking english, my german is a little out of practice.

I heard a rumor that the Nazi party was gaining support again in Austria, that was a couple of years ago, but I don't get much news from that area. Is it true?

I've been wanting to start collecting some old german coins do you know of any good internet sites to start looking? I am very uninformed in that area and would like to have some info before I start buying.

Good to hear that the Nazi's, aren't a threat. I probably just got some bad info.

I'm not sure what you mean by PM you.
If you click on my name to the left of this post it will pull up my profile and there is a place you can send me an email.

I think these coins are interesting from a historical standpoint, but I do appreciate the fact you've obliterated the Hakenkreuz. I suppose it de-glorifies a monstrous system that had no redeeming qualities.

I suppose that "Stempeldrehung" most closely matches "rotated die error", although "rotated strike" is more accurate overall.

KurtS-You got it all in 1 :-) Occ. I get mails from folk who wanna buy something and then i`ll send them uncensored pics, I can understand that, but otherwise, I have found that it`s more user-friendly like this. there are folks who dont like it, stumble across my site and then flip out. (i can understand it too, as it aint something that the everyday man wants to see) No redeeming qualities? No qualities Full Stop!

I think it would be a shame to deface the coin. I hate what happened back then in Germany, but to hide the past only increases the chance that it could happen again. From a historical point the coins more valuable as a reminder of that than any other aspect of the coin. I think everybody should have one.

CMG, you're half way to 50 already. That was fast. I'll email you and you should be able to reply.

The 'swastika,' as a lot of people refer to it, was a sign of good luck prior to the Third Reich. It can be found on numerous American greeting cards of the early 20th century.

Since the original question has been answered and this is more of a Nazi conversation now I think we can close this thread.
