, Not sure about this one , So I'll say AU-58-MS62 . It's the reverse that has me puzzled .

Not FSB unfortunately.
Wear and weak strike in this area can be a little difficult to differentiate, and thus makes grading difficult in the AU58 to MS62 range.

Go for an FSB if you can.

Obverse strikings are sharper with earlier dates.

Might make 63, agree that the weak reverse strike makes it difficult to judge.

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah I was struggling to grade it due to the weakness on the reverse! I bought it as an au58 as a bit of a punt. Will be sent to PCGS this week and I`ll report back!

Interesting!

Whom graded it? PCGS? NGC? ANACS? ICG?

Graded by PCGS - Cert #80840127 (not in the system yet will be in a couple hours). I was quite shocked, thought it might crack a 62 but never a 64.

Looks like a weak strike, if it has good enough luster and the grader has the knowledge of grading 20s branch mint dimes I could see a MS-64... Coins weren't known for having the best strikes in the 20s and 30s...

Nice come up! If that is the large S, that's an extra bonus

I would have said MS-62. This is why I mainly buy raw.

EDIT: The toning could have been throwing everyone off. What matters is the luster, and it is muted in these photos.
