For $1300 you can get a very nice authentic gold coin, buy one from a respected coin dealer in a NGC or PCGS holder.

Was this a troll post? Was OP seriously considering buying a "coin" that had copy stamped on it with clear warnings that it was just a gold plated clad medal?

The COA says it was struck by 'The National Collector's Mint' -- whatever that is.

If you blow up the COA you can read some of the information.
13 milligrams 24 kt pure gold Clad bronze
Which means it is a bronze coin plated with 13 mg of 24K gold
Nice way of saying just a gold plated copy of a coin.

When we are new to collecting, you don't know as much as you do after 20 years of collecting! So keep that in mind CCF and don't frighten off another person! Sorry, gladis_gladiator! Oh, by the way: to CCF, gladis_gladiator!

i believe this post was more authentic than the troll with the 1880 nickel and the 3 other key date coins that were "sold to the local dealer" that we'll never see pics of.

I have seen many advertisements on TV for .999% gold clad Buffalo "Tribute" coins. They sell for $9.95 plus S&H. Do they think people are idiots or is this a way to sell fakes and attempt to scam people down the line. I have seen gold clad $20 gold pieces for sale. To me this is pure BS and almost fraud. Why would you buy something like that unless you were going to attempt to pass it off as real to some sucker?

Quote: Which means it is a bronze coin plated with 13 mg of 24K gold 13mg = 0.000459oz. Gold @ ~$1350/oz comes out to about $0.62 worth of gold on those plates. Count me out
