With the amount of these coins being produced and the availability from either a dealer or direct from RAM of the 5 coin sets I doubt that they will become "Rare" or "Scarce".
The $15 per set isn't a bad deal and a far better option than buying off an ebay "Scalper" if you haven't got access to a Woolies store

It seems they're not doing too good a job at promoting them.

My neighbour came up to me yesterday, saying he had this weird $2 coin given to him in change; he thought it was some kind of mint error, with a rubber ring stuck in it or something. I told him it was an Olympic commemorative coin, part of a series they were distributing via Woolies. He then said he'd been given two, and went back inside to fetch the other one. He gave them both to me.

Wish I had a shot @ this. I haven't seen a Woolworths in 50 yrs.
Do they still sell coin folders & have lunch counters?

Woolworths (no apostrophe) in Australia is different from, and completely unrelated to the Woolworth's (with apostrophe) in North America or in Britain. The Australian one is purely a supermarket chain. Wikipedia.

Nothing much in the newspapers, a couple of minuets on the Today show and I haven't seen any promotional material in my local Woolies store.
I doubt that many collectors let alone the rest of the community are aware that these coins are available.
RAM has been actively promoting these via emails to the Legends members and by making them available on the RAM shop website But I imagine that a great deal of the information has been made available via CCF and the Australian Coin Forum.

They're in the Woolies catalogues (i.e. junk mail) we receive each Tuesday. I could never be bothered to read junk mail, but I was tipped off by another family member who does. Now, I have more Olympic coins of each colour (blue/black/red) than I have of all the previous releases (purple/green/red/orange) combined.

Hey guy's,

I have a small story, I was in Woolies on Tuesday got a couple bottles of Gaterade and headed to the end Normal Checkout, not the express one.
Because it was next to Bottle shop anyway the checkout Person said there is an express lane, said I've gota go next door so I'll wait ( no rush ). When she called me over, its hi good morning you know that there is an express lane (told her again as obove)!
So with that I asked "any shiny red coins in the till still? And she said are you going through each of the registers for them? I laughed as I say " na its to much of a pain just getting 1 coin as you're all in a Bad Mood being asked about them.
So I hand her my Money she opens the till turns around and Said " Well you're Change only ads up to $41 so your not going to get a Red Coin!!
I stood up a bit taller now ( 6 foot 4in ), and I replie Bull(Rubbish)!
Thats a Sly thing to Pull, you know you are supposed to Distribute these through a Customers Change! You can't pick & choose who" You "hand these too.
Sort of Stood up another 1/2 inch and said, No I'm not going with that! I would like you Rechange my Change please as you know I asked if there is a Red Olympic Coin & you just tryed to pull a Cheap Stunt!! Would the Store Manager like what you have tryed to do?
Well She opens up the till and recashed my $41 Handed me my new Change and acted so Polite, Thanks and have a good day! ( as there were people in line )

So this might be a Reason why there is no Woolworths Promotional News.

Still wound up on that Day & Smartless Act!

Just getting My One Coin per Monday, get the Mint & Special Olympic Set and im
Going back to " Coles " Woolworths ain't Worth it.

See what troubles I get into over the next 3 Weeks
Have Fun People,

You make it sound much harder than it is. Woollies is always on the lookout for coin scalpers, so you have to be respectful of their decision. Sometimes it's best to find another store than to argue with the same people day after day after day.

G day Hercules,

No not argue, just that its a small town and not worth the Petrol to travel to the next closest town to go to another Woolies just for 1 Coin.
Anyway still a Sly thing to Do to a person dont you think?
Woolworths Managing and Promoting Department should be encouraging there staff to hand out the Coins,
Isn't that why they Payed the Royal Australian Mint,
" For Advertising" ? The Woolies Brand.
Thanks and have a good Night

My wife has been getting most of coins from the 'Express checkout by purchasing a $4 item, inserting $10 and receiving 3 Olympic coins in her change! (just saying).

I figured that might be the case. Where I live, there are about 10-20 different stores, all within half an hour's drive, so it's really easy for me to take my business somewhere else.

There's no consistency to this at all. Not only does each store have its own policy, but each staff member as well. I even think that some staff members have discriminated against me because I'm young. You just have to keep trying until you get what you want.

Woolworths lets you withdraw cash without a purchase... so I withdraw $4.80... pick up some $2 and some 20c to check also... or if I buy something use eftpos and withdraw an extra $4.80. I used to withdraw 80c at a time also when the machines were full of commemorative 20c coins...

Anyhow, 2 sets of of Olympic $2 has been completed tonight :)

Two? What do you mean you only completed two? You remind me of that teacher on "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".

Come to my house, and you'll see what a real collection looks like!

Correct. I don't buy to keep and sell and make money or for a retirement, Its purely because I like doing it. What do I need more than 2 for?

Because these coins are beautiful!

Seeing rows and rows of them in front of you is much more aesthetically pleasing than seeing only one or two at a time.
