Well, here are the results. No bear in mind that this is only what I found on this trip, the whay my parents have stuff stashed away I am sure more will surface...
2 '64 Unc sets that my mom said I could have, and an 1 oz Silver Ike Comm. coin (non-mint issue I think)
A 1960-D rimless Nickel
Some JFK halves. Some pictured, all 90% and 40% are on the right.
Some silver coins that were in my coin box.
A bag of cents and a bunch of dimes that I removed from circulation when I lived at home.
A couple really nice AU 1979
SBA $1's
My Dad's collection of cents. (I am holding on to it (with my mom's blessing) until he learns to appreciate things like this.
Some Ikes, and 5 common Morgans that my dad had in a can
A $1 Silver Certificate and a Red Seal $5 bill that my mom gave to me.
Some silver that was in another can of my dad's (Merc's on the left, 1 Standing Lib Quarter, and 1 Walker. and a '21 Morgan, a '23 Peace, a
Franklin half (bot. left) that I found while helping my Grandma clean out a room in her basement, that she was happy to let me have.
And some Silver Certifs that my Dad told me to put back in the tin with all of his silver. I told him that if he wants them he can have them, but that I am going to put them in holders so that they could be properly stored. He said that they were worthless, and to just put them back, so I told him that I did.
I will give them to him when I go home for Easter, in proper mylar holders, and in an archivial quality box.
I know that there is nothing her that I really have to worry about, but I now have to think about spending my hard earned coin $$$$ on supplies! Albums, tubes, 2x2's, GLOVES, etc... Coins are much more fun to buy then supplies!
I never did find my grandfather's coins, and I was mistaken about my great grandmothers, those were actually my dad's, oh well, still fun, and it leaves something to look forward to finding on a future trip home!
P.S. What is a good website to buy supplies from, or if anyone is around the KC area, (Eagle), what is a good local shop to go to? I like to help out the little guy if I can.
Edit: To address everyone with worries about selling stuff... No, I am not going to sell any of this stuff. Now, if there were a couple 1893-S Morgans in AU/MS, yea, I would probably sell one to furnish the rest of my collection with stuff. And I actually think that is what the people that handed it down to me would want... A problem I really wish I had.
