WOW They should have used the guy that won the 100 yard dash as the model for the coin, it only could have improved the look of it!

Ouch!! You hit me in the gut with that one! It is funny that you said that because I would have thought it was the obverse with P.T. Barnum that you would have pointed to as ugly. Maybe it's just me, but the art deco eagle on the back of the Bridgeport commemorative is way cool. The eagle was not meant to be realistic looking. Well, I won't fault you for your lack of vision!

And who is she? Beavis's mother? I'd rate that coin #3. #2 is the 3 cent nickel. #1 is the Morgan dollar. Chacun a son gout. Hee hee.

Totally serious here, but maybe it was a "special" artist who drew it? Otherwise, who would mint that ugly thing?

It's either Pat or Pam Shriver.
Pat, of the Kennedy clan Pam, of Olympic tennis fame

Incidentally, Eunice Kennedy Shriver is one of only a handful of living people to have ever been featured on a US coin. Her sister(and JFK's) Rosemary was lobotomized at a young age and institutionalized for the rest of her life. This was the impetus for founding the Special Olympics.
