for what it is it is genuine. It is not a US 1 cent coin but I doubt it is a fake.

Has anyone noticed that an experienced poster has not shown us the reverse?

I never said it was fake, but it looks like Conder101 nailed it.

And for what it is worth, I was thinking it might be a metal coaster, not a cheap plastic one.

I do believe it is an error coin! The words on the reverse are different from the normal design!
