Complete Lincoln Cent Album (Including Proof Only Issues)

That is beyond cool. Basically what I dreamed of as a kid, and still hold in very high regard. I like that the older coins are circulated, presumably a number of them taken from circulation by the original collector? Just a great set.

I know! That's why I snapped it up without hesitation when I had the chance to buy it. I got it from a reputable dealer, so I wasn't too worried about it being full of counterfeits. I'm guessing it was from somebody's estate.

My 09 S vdb is in a NGC slab. in my album I have a label in
the hole, with information about the slab.

Seeing your set ... almost .. makes me want to crack the slab.

Well, the 22 No D is a requirement for a complete set if (and only if) you use the Dansco 8100 to store your collection, since there is a hole for it.

Based on the information I've been able to glean, only the Denver Mint was responsible for producing Lincoln Cents in 1922. Four different die pairs were used to mint the 1922-D Lincoln Cents, due to the Denver Mint running out of usable dies with thousands of cents needing to be struck to fill their quota. One of the die pairs (Die Pair #2) clashed together, resulting in damage to both the obverse and reverse die. The reverse die was so badly damaged that it was replaced with a newer, less worn die. The obverse die, however, was reworked by a mint employee who erased all traces of the D mintmark while repairing and polishing the die. The result is a worn obverse die with no trace of a mintmark and a strong reverse die.
