Bumping this thread instead of starting a new one...
I missed last year's show, but I'm thinking of checking out this years (Sep 30-Oct 1), which is at the Sunova Centre in West St. Paul again, which is a 10 minute drive from where I live, so really no excuse to not check it out!
Having never been to a coin show before, I'm not sure what to expect. Here's some of the items I'd be looking for: - World Silver Crowns (36mm+): I have lots, but as anyone who collects these knows, there is a huge, always growing list that I'll probably never finish! - Assorted Bullion: Always on the lookout for interesting bullion from around the world - World Gold: Been branching out into gold lately, looking for maybe a half sovereign or a gold LMU coin. This is probably what I'd like to find the most.
I assume Canadian decimal is well represented at the show, but I'm not actively collecting any right now. Still need a '45 and a '48 for my silver dollar collection, I might possibly look for the '45, but the '48 is certainly not on my list for this show!
So basically my current focus is non-North American stuff. What's the likelihood that I'd find any of this at this show?

I guess I can help out a bit. Check out the picture gallery when you get a chance. I expect a similar type of view this year also. http://www.manitobacoinclub.org/gallery.htmDecimals are represented, yes. I'm not a world coin collector yet, so I have no comment on the availability of world silver crowns at the show. I do know one vendor, Al, from last year will not be there this year. Al told me he plans on being at the Regina coin show. Please do check it out. I hope to be there first thing in the morning.

Made it here at 10:27am and I am still here outside of the front door. It is busier here than last year which makes sense as this is their 2nd year at this location. I picked up some bullion and a couple of upgrades. It is now 12:48pm and I am done. I will post what I purchased as soon as I can. [Edited] I finally found some time to post this. So I also purchased a Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coin as a gift for my brother as belated birthday present. He then later on, purchased 2 silver bullets, modelled after ammunition for the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol. The purchase was for a birthday gift for one of his co-workers. The faces have been pix-elated to protect privacy. 1936 Dot 25 cent I paid 60.00 dollars for the below playing card.

I look forward to see them thehulk. My brother took the photo and perform the pixelation on it. The Manitoba coin show had a better turn out than last year, by far.

Had some time to take some pics of my purchases, only took pics of one side as it was a busy weekend. Glad I found some time to go though, this was the closest you can get to a coin shopping mall! FYI if you see prices on these coins, I paid less than that for all of them. Another bonus of face to face sales is a bit of haggling. Founds lots of world crowns. First one up is an Iranian 5 rial from 1932. This wasn't even on my crown list, but I bought it anyways. Cuban Peso from 1932. Not in the best condition but good price. Mexico 8 reales from 1890. Always wanted one of these, not bad condition... Philippine Peso from 1907 Spain 5 pesetas. Date is on the other side, but I think it was an 1889. I have one of these but this one is in better condition. 1914 China "Fatman" Dollar. Always wanted one of these, but they are typically $100+ on ebay in any condition. This one is probably VF condition, paid $60. This is also a often counterfeited coin, so I'll have to do some checking on it. Wanted to get a gold coin too, if I didn't spend so much on crowns I would have gotten a bigger one, but all I had cash left for was for a half sovereign (1913). Great condition, paid just over melt for it. All in all it was a fun experience, got all this material for quite a bit less than what you'd pay on ebay. I'll definitely have to attend again in the future. Is this an annual event or does it happen more frequently?

The Manitoba coin club holds this as an annual event. There is also a "show" the 3rd Sunday of every month (I think) at the Charterhouse. It's pretty close to the same thing... most of the same dealers for both coins and stamps.

Just a small correction: There is also a "show" the 2nd Sunday of every month, with the exception of July and August for their break. The next bourse is on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Best Western Charterhouse Hotel at 330 York Ave. From 10:00AM till 4:00PM. I'm glad you all found something to add to your collection. thehulk, the half sovereign (1913) you purchased was from Andy Z. I recognised his "chicken scratch" on the 2 x 2.
