Unless its a error coin, it's why I posted the question in the error forum but I guess it's not a error question?

there are no 1965 and 1967 Washington silver quarters.

Now the odds that your friend has both a genuine silver 1965 and 1967 quarter are between zero and none.

Yeah that's what I meant.
The chances your friend has a 1965 and 1967 silver are not in your favor.

The good news is he is a friend and I will be able to physically hold them, test them ect before hand. And without all the nay saying and chance odd's aside....can anyone anwser the questions at hand? I would greatly appreciate it, I know the odds are slim buy given the information I have I would not have posted this without it being a better chance then not. I just did not know if there were any variables I was not aware of in the nusmatic world.

Strike it Rich offers an estimate. But I'm not near my copy. Perhaps an assist can be had?

I'd guess a BU '65 silver quarter would worth about $5000.

There simply won't be a '67 silver quarter. It's hardly impossible but ne reported and odds are very mugainst it. Such a unique coin would probably be worth north of $30000 but its

value could only be determined in auction.

Don't need pictures, what we need are weights. A picture won't tell you much of anything, a weight will immediately tell you if further investigation is warranted or if you can drop the whole idea.

What makes your friend think they're silver?
Being that there is zero chance they are 90% silver, perhaps weighing them would show the silver plating...if this is the case.

Have you looked at the edge? If it is just a very nice and shiny clad quarter you will see the band of copper on the side. This won't help if it is silver plated but is a start. I think saying you have a better chance than not is stretching things, but if you really want to figure this out then there are several things you can do.

Check the edge as I said above, then weigh the coin. If it passes those tests post pictures here and we may be able to tell you more.

Take it to a local coin dealer, or even two or three if you don't trust the first answer.

Finally, send them in to a TPG (Third Party Grading Company). If they come back saying they are the real deal then you can be certain of what you have. You'd need to do that eventually anyway for anyone to believe the coins were real if you wanted to sell them.

Conder....that's false. If they are indeed plated, then they could weigh a 0.02g more and you'd still be convinced it's real.

Need pictures.
