I'm in Naples / Ft Myers and we were spared from even most of the outer bands. Today has been rather breezy from the backside of the storm, but next to no rain since last night. We are watching the loop-de-loop very closely since it could bring tropical rains across SW Florida to makeup up for what we didn't get from the first pass. Praying for those on the Atlantic coast.

I think so. Has the Art Deco look doesn't it. Am pretty sure it was used at the Watertown NY Weather Office since the 60s, and the supervisor there said I could have it in 2000, when it became obselete. But not exactly sure how old it is. I had to send out the clock to Chelsea Clock in Boston, to have it repaired. The whole thing was yellow from years of cigarette smoke. Down to 995 mb now

Made it down to 990mb. Was a long night with tropical storm conditions for about 6hrs. Some trees down around here, but we survived without a major hit, and spent the morning cleaning up branches and leaves. Lost power for about 18 hrs, and it just came back on. Water has been off since yesterday, and is still off. Not so lucky at the coast from central FL to southeast GA. Beaches took a pretty good hit. Just saw footage of part of A1A getting washed away. Am sure some homes are gone, but will take a day or two for full damage reports. The bridges to the beaches are opening slowly after they are checked for damage and deemed safe.

We just got hammered from this storm...I think we are past the worst here in Eastern NC but it has been a tough one to say the least. I am waiting for the sun to come up to see exact damage. As Buddy said I am sure it will be nothing compared to Haiti but we will be seeing the effects of this one for a while. I live about 1 1/2 hours in land and it was pretty tough.

Just got power back on. My motels lost a few shingles, but I'm okay. Trees are down everywhere in the Low Country of SC. All my family and employees are safe too.

Here in Kingsland GA, 15 mi from the coast, we had a low pressure of 28.23 in, and over 7 1/2 inches of rain. Tropical storm conditions lasted for about 8 hrs. Lost power and water for a day, and are still under a boil water advisory. The coast really got hammered. Almost everything right on the beach was ruined.
