Thanks for the comments. The tape residue comes off pretty easy. The acetone breaks down the tape residue, and what it doesn't remove, the VerdiCare takes care of.

Sorry it took a while, but finally got to the 1823, and after a little "conservation" work, looks like it might be an AG3 or G04.

Looks good , but you can still see where the tape went across it due to the differences in toning.

I see what you are talking about across the lower third of the coin, but it's just the way the coin colored. The tape residue on this one was minimal and only across the device across middle of the face from about the B in LIBERTY to the bottom of the ear. There was no residue in the fields. At least the variety is easy to figure out
