That's where I was leaning. Oh well. Red Book has the business strike for more anyway.

Depends where it's for sale you could contact the seller asking if they'd accept their original $10 price on the proof.

I did that, they said they prefer to stay where they are.

They wouldn't lower the price on the proof. So I just bought the ms64 SBA. I'll post pictures when I get it.

I would have wanted both, but I think you made the right call.

Quote: Just wondering which one is the best deal. This comment suggests to me that you should consider your basic motivation for acquiring an SBA ... what are your collecting interests? Being true to yourself is the key to collector happiness ... and the 'best deal' does not usually become a factor for coins such as these SBA which will never gain much price appreciation. Just saying - David

Thank you David, as a new collector it always seems to be getting the best deal and getting your money's worth. Sometimes causing me to shy away from what I really want.

It's your collection, so you make the rules! Nothing wrong with trying to get the best deal, but on the other hand if you see a coin you like and you have the money why not buy?
You may find that your priorities change over time too.
Enjoy building your collection, that's the point. Sounds to me like you should focus more on what you like than getting the best deal. Something to ask yourself: would you be happier with 50 coins you really like, or 50 coins you got a great deal on, but don't really like?

Got it today. It had some sticky residue from whatever on the back that was near impossible to get off. Other than that, it's pretty good.
