Details looks AU and virtually all the patina has been removed, chemically or otherwise, leaving the surfaces looking dead.

Your new picture looks better. Do you have a similar shot of the obverse? Cleaning and dipping are not usually considered one and the same. I do think your coin has been dipped in acid but it might grade as problem-free at a TPG.

Here's the seller's pic of the obverse. Much better than my picture.

I'm still at AU53. it may have had a dip it but it surely recovered nice and I do not think it would receive a details designation.

Looks like a GSC style pic. Was that the seller? Nice coin nonetheless. AU50 level detail.

If it's ebay, check your seller's history, see if they bought it slabbed.

GSC always has their logo on bottom left of photo so probably not them. Thank goodness.

Thanks everyone for all your feedback and opinions. I was thinking AU50 or maybe 53 when I purchased it.

No, it wasn't GSC

It was ebay but the seller's buying history does not show the items - even recent purchases. Can members block the item description from being listed?

Was at 50, but couldn't argue 53.
