I'd love to get a hold of one of those Iron Worker coins. I did Iron work for about 2 years and it is not for the faint of heart. I will admit the highest steel I worked on was 3 stories and that was more than enough for me. I seriously couldn't imagine those guys going higher. Especially the days of old! Like the Empire states building!

I've been asking for any fifty cent and dollar coins as change from local stores. The other day I got 20 dollar coins and one of them was a proof. This is the second I've gotten through change.

Wow. Rough looking proof. At least you saved her from further ruin.

I picked up one of these today in New Zealand. Its been through some circulation but still retains some of tthe gold tone. Unfortunately the gold finish is not that permanent and appears to be chipping. (Bad quality finishing?) Small Cud noticed under the first 'L' of Dollars. I was amazed in 2014 when I presented a few in payment to a store-worker in California that she had never seen one before

Nice find! The gold colour is not from plating, it is brass. The chipping is probably corrosion.
