Do you have the link for that wildflowerAB? Sounds like a good all in one set to get!

Does anyone think there is a chance that the RCM will come out with a 2017 set that has the 1967 designs? Those are classic - maybe becausue they were such a big thing for me growing up>

I hope the special Canada 150 circulating coins come in a set such as the classic designs. I bought 2 of those and I would get two of these if they were offered.

Not thinking about the 5 oz. coins - as nice as they look in reality not too many people will hve them in hand. I'm thinking (wishing) that a smaller run of the original coins (except the penny) would be a neat idea and become really collectable while hearkening back to 1967.

They aren't affordable, that's truth. The big coins will better highlight beautiful design, but original-sized coins proof set would be more desirable by NCLT collectors (in case if they not totally lost interest)

The years just begun... Jan 3rd press release - To help mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, over 40 different products will be issued as the Mint announces its monthly catalogues over the course of the year. http://www.newswire.ca/news-release...9504755.html

I got my two sets today via FedEx. They weren't due to arrive until January 23! I thought it was interesting how small the envelopes were that houses the sets. They are very nice indeed.

I bought 4 of these sets today. Does anyone think they will be worth buying extras for profit/resell down the road?

Quote: I bought 4 of these sets today. Does anyone think they will be worth buying extras for profit/resell down the road? I am trying to use analogy with 2012 Uncirculated set, contains: 1. "Old" hard to find Loonie and Toonie 2. Last set contains 1 Penny coin Here it is on ebay: Item ID = 252777890444CAD 30 + 10 shipping So offered for CAD 5 more than issue.

Silveroid, a correction here. The issue price of the 2012 uncirculated set was $23.95. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/uncir....WKy2iekiyUkSo the price did not really increase much at $30, which just covers the eBay/Paypal fees. At the same mintage of 75,000 for the 2012 set, pretty hard to see any price increases for the 2017 set.

Yes, agree, MoneyPenney
I didn't mention mintage. it is very high. So whoever now or later will be interested in this set - will be able to get it close to issue. The rare case could happen in theory - very less collectors will be interested now in the set, they will settle in the collectors hands, and if offered for sale - with some premium. Like "phenomenon" of 2012 Farewell For penny Roll:
Original mint packaging roll possible to find for CAD 5-10 but the "farewell" packaged rolls sold for CAD 60-130 (production of 20.000 rolls)

Thanks for the opinions. The only thing I thought about is, the 2012 old dollar and toonie coins all made it into circulation as well as the ones in sets. So there were an over abundance of them. These 2017's are just available in the sets and not in circulation. So down the road, those who may need a 2017 non commemorative coin they'd have to buy and break open a set. That's what was making me wonder if I should buy extras thinking they may appreciate.
