That's what I'm thinking Alan, just a big difference value-wise between a 65 & 66 vs. cost. Maybe it's me but there is something I like about the 55's. Something about a roundness vs. flatness on the rev that is appealing.

PF 65 with an honest shot at 66. As has been mentioned, I agree that the parallel lines are die prep, not airlines.
Showing great obverse cameo, but virtually none on the reverse, although that's pretty tough to distinguish with photos only.

There are NO PROOF Canadian coins before 1973 Montreal Olympic 5 and 10 dollar coins. Period. The RCM had NO Capabilities to strike PROOF Coins. Need to see undoctored photos to see what this really is. Educated guess is that is a Heavy Cameo Prooflike from a 1955 set or a business strike. Very hard to tell if those are hairline scratches or raised Die lines. Edited by Pacificoin

I was wondering... coins which have dies where the numbers & letters are starting to bleed into the fields which in the past I mistakenly took for doubling, it is fair to assume that these coins would most likely, if graded, be on the lower end of the grade scale in either MS of Proof-Like and would this be some kind of indicator if one wanted to refine grading skill between a MS64-66 or PL64-66...? Also, would this only apply to PL or MS coins as well..?

Hard to tell with that type of photo, it is always a red flag for me. I can understand low skill blurry, not everyone has the equipment/expertise, but this has been deliberately setup to look like that with a high level of detail.
I always wonder, what are they trying to emphasize/hide? That kind of finish looks more like some recent specimen coins, not a 1955 half. My recommendation would be to ask for "real" photo's. That kind of look is easy to mask a cleaned/polished/whizzed coin.

I agree that many important details are hidden either purposely or not through photos. I have also received coins I bid on that I won at a very low cost to the dismay of the seller because his crappy photos undermined the beauty of the coin which kept the bids low but that I was totally blown away with the high grade. Some even messaged me after I received the coin to find out what I thought... I have to admit I felt kind of bad for them so took some time to advise how to take better coin photos.
Others manipulate the photos in order to best match what they are seeing in hand which if properly done, I have no problem with, if that is the true intention.

The only thing nice about the coin are the seller's pics.
PL63 heavy cameo at best.
Poorly struck for a PL coin, no detail at the Queen's eye, hairline above the ear, and central laurel leaves.
On the reverse the fleurs de lis are ill-formed as is the beast in the upper right quadrant.
If what you really like is the relief and detail of a '55, at that price point you should be able to purchase a well struck PL at the least.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thanks DBM for the run down. Yeah, I bought one before and it looked nice from far but it was far from nice. I might just have to put out for a graded coin to get what I'm looking for. Would like to find one with very sharp edges on the details but not something that is going to break the bank either.
