Sorry this beauty was lost! This seller has a great reputation and I'm glad they were quick to refund. Perhaps it will show up somewhere. Stranger things have happened. Once had something show up seven weeks after it was mailed.

Quote: It still may show up if you just ordered it less than two weeks ago. I'm kind of surprised the seller gave you a refund back so quick. Good luck! It shipped on Dec 9th and the handoff from UPS to USPS happened on Dec 12th. Zilch since then.

I've also had several packages suddenly "disappear" after the UPS-to-USPS hand-off. But they've always eventually shown up. It seems like the USPS delivery folks in my neighborhood are just sloppy, with me getting some neighbor's mail and them getting mine. Worst case was several weeks when a package of mine sat across the street, and my neighbor got busy and forgot that he had it.
Hope springs eternal, so maybe it will still show up. Good luck!

File a claim with the post office. That's essentially the only thing you can do, unless the coin was insured then you have options. I'm still seething over ebay messing with me out of over $300 cause my coins I sold got lost in the us mail, I filed a claim and am hoping I can get my coins back at least one day so I am not out all the money.

I've had packages go missing for as long as a month. That's a crazy time for shipping. Hope it shows up.

That was a decent price for a 67+, even being an NGC 67+

I guess the question is: if it DOES show up eventually, what do you do? Can you officially refund a refund?

I'm sure this seller will make it right. I purchase a 1/10 age from them in November that was lost as well. They offered to refund or replace the item once the time period ran out on their claim with the USPS.

I believe that the seller is the retail arm of one of the largest sellers of raw gold to the US Government. Refund should not be an issue with them. And I agree, if it finally shows up, which is certainly possible, contact the seller and arrange a settlement.

Quote: File a claim with the post office. Therein is where the problem lies, UPS tracking # shows that it WAS handed off to USPS. However, the tracking number for USPS shows that they are still waiting on the package to be handed off to them. Seems that someone's system is mixed up. I was very disappointed in the fact that the seller used a very cheap way of shipping something that nice (they used UPS Mail Innovations). If they had used regular UPS delivery...or regular USPS delivery, the lost package probably wouldn't have happened. I am still hopeful for an eventual delivery...and yes, I would definitely let the seller know so that I could pay accordingly.

If you got a full refund already there is nothing for you to do. The seller can file a claim or whatever they want but you can start shopping for a new coin and furgetaboutit. That UPS to USPS delivery hand-off is an oddball way to save a couple bucks on shipping.

Oh I agree...there is nothing left for me to do. I just wanted to make the post in case someone buys this Morgan and then searches the internet based on it's Cert#, they will see it's history in this thread. Not saying it's been stolen or anything, but it would be interesting to see where it ends up or shows up again.

That's a shame to loose such a coin but I once sent two Half Cents, a 1795 and an 1809 and they got lost in the mail but they were delivered 4 years later. They were shipped in the small sized priority box and the post office said they found it behind one of the machines that was having repairs done so I wouldn't give up hope yet

Looking at all their negative and neutral feedback, it's mostly all delivery related.
