I'm sorry. I meant to post last night. I heard from Mike's wife pretty late last night and she said that the surgery didn't get started until 5 hours late, so he was still in the O/R when she called me. She said that everything was going fine at that point and that Mike is hoping to call me himself today.
I'll be at my sister's for the holiday, so either she or Mike will call me on my cell phone and I'll post as soon as I get home (unless I can get a couple of minutes on my sister's computer).

I just got off the phone with Mike's wife and am so very happy to report that he came through the operation with flying colors!!  I am hoping to speak with Mike later today or tomorrow and I know that he'll be back here as soon as he is able. |

He should be coming home on Sunday or Monday, depending on how he's feeling. The doctor originally thought he might be able to leave on Saturday, but the surgery was a little more difficult than they had planned. Despite the lengthy surgery (over 8 hours total), he is doing much better today. He wishes everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving and hopes to be up and running again soon!

Katie, thanks so much for taking the time to post here about here about your dad. I just got off the phone with Mike and he sounds great! That conversation was such a great way to end my Thanksgiving Day. He asked me to say hello to all of you for him and to let you know that he will be back as soon as he can. |

I'm sorry. I should have posted this a couple of days ago. Mike went home on Sunday. I've spoken to him a couple of times and he's hoping to be back with us in a couple of days or so. His outlook is very positive and I look forward to his return. |

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am recovering and need to go slow for a while. 8 hours of surgery and 2 in recovery. Enough of these surgeries for a while!(seven in the last 20 months plus prostate cancer)It's time to rock and roll! Forward, never back down. Thanks again, Mike |
