Sorry about that. It did end five days ago. I'd saved the listing to post here and didn't notice that.

Anyone think I'll get a retirement fund if I sell mine? Had to buy the 43D the two coated "steelies" were found in bank rolls.

Clearly a no-no site product.

Now I see the die chip on the left wheat stalk.
That same chip was on a fake 1911-S Lincoln I bought last year. Fortunately, CCF helped me determine it was a fake and I got my money back.

Probably all Shill bidders anyhow! Real (Knowledgeable) bidders would have never bid on this coin as ungraded. Or I may be wrong and the term "Bidiots" rings true!!

There are many knowledgable people who bid on these types of auctions, simply so others who are not in-the-know don't get stuck with counterfeits. It is very easy to kill the transaction once you've won it. Both ebay and PayPal have strong buyer protection policies and there is nearly zero risk in winning such items.

Quote: and there is nearly zero risk in winning such items. People that knowingly bid to win fakes, then take advantage of the ebay Money Back Guarantee (MBG) DO RISK losing their ability to file MBG on future purchases. ebay will "indefinitely suspend the buyer's coverage under the ebay Money Back Guarantee." if they determine a buyer is filing "excessive requests". http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...arantee.html

Bobby, Is there anything your contact can do after an auction ends?

I would assume that most of them don't have to take it that far to cancel the transaction. Most at this level likely get the transaction cancelled without paying and without penalty from ebay. But yes, that'd be a big concern if you actually paid for and received the fake.

Quote: Bobby, Is there anything your contact can do after an auction ends? At the very most 24 hours after, depending on the listing, yes. Five days after, no. I depends on the $$ amount, wording in the listing, the coin, etc. For example, if it's an altered 44-D that went for $20 and is one of those ones that is extremely obvious... like someone took an hour rubbing it off with course sandpaper, then we're not going to worry about it.

I find that this also works. I found this seller on ebay that also is posting misleading coins for an absurd amount of money. I message the person to let him know that his coins is not the real deal, told him about how I educate myself in learning about coins and he thanked me and took it down. I posted screenshots of the post in another thread. The links no longer works. http://goccf.com/t/277512Just another way to make them into an honest human being. Sorry if the messages below are confusing.

I had one I sent to a bud of mine as a joke. The one I sent was REALLY convincing. It wasn't the bright copper like so. It was an obviously plated 1943 Steel cent, but the way they did it was like no other. It had a normal circulated copper look to it, looked like your average 1945 cent that's seen light circulation, a perfect brown. Quite fooling and convincing...probably could have sold it on ebay and made $15,000+ if I wanted to.
